"Better than the other Hilton in town"
I stayed here not so long after this hotel was converted from a Meridien to a Hilton, which has been a while ago, after a night out with a friend. I don't know how it was before but it is definitely a nice hotel. Now it also houses a restaurant. When I arrived at the front desk, I was pleasantly surprised that the staff are really multilingual and very friendly. They promptly shared the WiFi login with me which I could use while waiting for my friend to come down in the lobby. The lobby is very nice, it has a cool seating area with view on the Grasmarkt. When I was here, I could instantly feel the difference with the Hilton at Rogier! Not only service wise but also judging it by the location (right opposite Central station and not as dodgy as the North station neighbourhood). The bar in the Hilton is a bit boring and bland but the staff is friendly and well trained. The only thing that really sucks is their beer selection.... *YAWN* so boring for a country as Belgium. Luckily Brewdog is right across the road, this was also our next stop for our night out. The room we got in this Hilton was surprisingly big but our view was not that impressive and the room did not have a balcony, But what the room lacked in view, it definitely made up with the room's interior, space and very accommodating nature. The internet in the room was very good and worked splendid but what I liked the most was the bathroom. The Bathroom had a very nice shower and it was very well lighted. I have a lot of hair and I forgot to pack a toothbrush, when I called the hotel services, they were at my doorstep in less than 5min with more shampoo and a pack with a toothbrush and toothpaste. I even believe it took them only two minutes and when they saw my hair they even asked if I would like some more shampoo while staying polite and not being impatient. I definitely slept well that night, the bed was very big and very comfy, I actually overslept and I was glad I did because it meant I could sleep longer. Since I am from around here, it does not really make sense that I would stay here. But if someone would offer it to me again, I most definitely would! I would also recommend it to other friends of mine that come down to Brussels to party for the weekend, because the standards are really good for Brussels.
"Hilton ... Renewed and in good shape"
Recently renewed Hilton, very friendly concierge service and a reasonably good restaurant. Definitely not a "standard" Hilton, it worth a stay if you want to be close to the city center. @100 meters from the train station ... And 5 minutes walk from the central square of Bruxelles. Good customer experience.
"Good stay but based on HHonors Gold status"
Pros/Likes: - Room was ready for check-in at 12:00 noon, which was done fast - Upgraded to deluxe room with nice bed - Room was big and simply decorated - Bathroom was big with both a bathtub and shower - Received two Godiva chocolates as welcome - In-room safe/coffee/tea/robes - Location was excellent in front of Gare Centrale for easy airport access and walking distance to Grand Place and restaurants - Room service was good and prompt; one time I was not feeling well and was given free hot tea...very nice touch! - Received two free bottles of water daily - Mini-bar had some available space to put your own beverages - Breakfast was very good and free due to HHonors Gold; otherwise expensive at 21€ (continental breakfast) or 25€ (full breakfast) - There is a business room with 1 PC and printer available for free - Wifi was good - Nice staff - Check-out was fast with no problems Cons/Dislikes: - Was not told they can make waffles during breakfast; I saw another guest getting waffles so I asked for waffles too - There were not enough power outlets in the room - Drapes/curtains let the sunshine in; had to get creative with tables and books on the floor to keep them closed - Only HHonors Diamond are given Executive Lounge access, which does not match the HHonors policy that allows Gold to have access to Executive Lounge if available...disappointing and does not seem right! Neutral: - Pillows were too soft for my taste - Very few TV channels in English (mostly Dutch and French) Miscellaneous: - Breakfast is served 7-10am on weekdays, 7-11am on weekends - No pool - No spa
"Fabulous location, great service"
After an overnight flight, I was delighted that the front desk spent some time trying to find a room available for early check-in so we could freshen up and rest a bit before a lunch meeting. The room was lovely, with a view of the Grand Place towers spiraling up. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and the location cannot be beat!
"Our last 3 stays were much better!!"
After a few 'not so good' experiences in this hotel, we have noticed a lot of improvements during recent stays. Breakfast is now much better than before (many more quality options to choose from, including some nice local cheeses, fresh passion fruits, nice made-to-order waffles...). During our last 3 stays we have also received generous room upgrades as a Diamond Hilton member, very much appreciated! Most of the staff is friendly and professional. Air conditioning worked well during recent stays (I will still try to avoid the hotel in winter because most of the rooms have windows that can't be opened, which I hate!). Executive lounge can still be improved (food choices are ok but hardly any comfort at all and the drink choices are limited even though they now have prosecco on offer as well). The lobby is still stunning (they changed the layout a bit) but they should really remove the bar tables and chairs that they have recently added because they look completely out of place!! Tasteless and even a bit tacky... Also under the lobby television they have now placed a side table that doesn't match the rest of the furniture (I am convinced it is from the former Le Meridien hotel). Wifi worked ok and was pretty fast. Despite my -hopefully constructive- comments we will now definitely consider staying here again in the nearby future!
