"The Best Hotel in the World: Improved"
The Best Hotel in the World has gotten better. The rooms and the public areas have been beautifully refurbished. Most important, the staff is unrivaled, remaining friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Although we had not visited the hotel for two years, we were greeted by name, with a "Welcome Back." I challenge any other five-star hotel to match that. This is where you want to stay.
We stayed here at the end of our River cruise. The property is located a few feet away from Mathias Church and Fisherman's Bastion, so the restaurants in the area are plentiful, but the tourists are everywhere. We had booked an Executive room, which was available upon our arrival at 10:30 am. The front desk staff were efficient, helpful and pleasant. Our room was elegant and overlooked the courtyard, making it very quiet. The lounge was spectacular and the staff very efficient and pleasant. The Executive Lounge food was adequate, not great, but we enjoyed it. All in all, this was one of the best Hilton experiences we have had in awhile. Full marks!
The Budapest Hilton (Castle area) marvelous hotel with great staff and excellent food and service. We were upgraded to executive rooms. Booking of restaurants by concierge brilliant very helpful and great advice.
"Great, great, great!!!"
It’s been quite some time since I last felt compelled to write a review on Trip Advisor, but after our recent 3 night stay at Hilton Budapest I couldn’t wait to give a huge thumbs up to all other travelers out there. Firstly, the location can’t be beaten. Located on the beautiful, culturally rich Buda side and set atop the hill with breath taking views and surrounded by lovely restaurants and interesting visitor sites. We loved walking from the hotel down to the chain bridge and across to the Pest side every day, and then back up the hill in the evening. A great way to burn off some of the local fare. The hotel itself is stunning inside and out. We were very fortunate to get an upgrade to the executive floor, and our room and the facilities were all perfect and felt like brand new following the recent renovations. Although we didn’t get an opportunity to have dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, breakfast in the dining room and the snacks in the executive lounge were all to higher end Hilton standards. Staff throughout the hotel were so friendly and helpful, and assisted us with restaurant recommendations, dinner reservations, tour bookings, taxi arrangements, wake up calls, you name it. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby like Pest-Buda (which is great!!), 21, and AranyHordo. Unfortunately we ran out of time and didn’t get to try Café Pierrot which also comes highly recommended. All in all, the incredible location, high standards, and friendly staff made this one of the best city breaks we’ve ever done. Not to mention that Budapest is an absolutely fantastic city, and we hope to visit again soon one day as there was so much we didn't have time to see.
3 nights stay and dinner. Excellent hotel, very good service and staff, professional and friendly. Very nice areas and rooms. Excellent location in the old part of the city, amazing views. Easy and good bus transport to the center.
