"The best in Budapest"
The Hilton in Budapest City is the best in Budapest City. Near every location you want to see. Good restaurant, friendly personal, clean rooms, and all you need in it. Alone thing you must be aware of: in the rooms to the street you hear the street with open window. So you better pick one to the back.
"Just a couple of tweeks"
Stayed in this hotel with mother just as a weekend away. Being a gold member I was fortunately upgraded so could use the lounge. The actual rooms themselves are very comfy and are a good size. The bathroom is great (always appreciate a separate shower and bath) and the toiletries are nice. The actual executive lounge is a little tired. The breakfast and dinner that they served in here were very good. Plenty of food and variety so no complaints there, only niggling point is the lounge itself is looking rather tired. It is time it had an overhaul. If nothing else, please get some new chairs! Location wise, it is very good. If you are travelling from the airport, please don't even bother with a taxi. It is an easy bus ride then underground journey from there and only costs £2 against what would be close to £20 by taxi! I have always taken taxis before, but this once, I tried public transport. I will never take a taxi again, so not worth it and is no faster. However, if you are looking for a view, this hotel isn't it. The Castle District Hilton has the view and this Hilton has the ease of location :)
The hotel is well-located in terms of backing onto the shopping with its food-court and one of the main stations, however, it is 20 minute walk from most of the tourist attractions and restaurants / bars. The welcome was friendly and efficient and the breakfast was good. The rooms were spacious and of the standard that one might expect at a Hilton with the normal facilities, a comfortable bed and a modern and clean bathroom.
"High Marks in Hungary"
As a patron of Hilton I have certain expectations but I was extremely impressed with this facility located in the Buda district. The facility built in the 70's has been refurbished and is just fantastic. If you are fortunate enough to be of "Diamond" status the Executive Club floor is as good as I have come across in my 30 years of international travel. The location provides easy access to many of the city's attractions as well as a number of local restaurants. You will not be disappointed.
"Have low expectations!"
Seen better 3 stars than this one. Dirty room and bathroom, unfriendly staff. Typical Eastern Europe standards ! Nearest bars and clubs are 30 mins walk , wouldn't recommend it. Would recommend to get a hotel near the centra area.
