"Staff rate 5+ Star"
We arrived at 3am after long flight from USA and drive from Dubai Airport. In addition, due to a mix-up I made with arrival date, my vacation stay started at the Abu Dhabi Hilton having no rooms available. The Abi Dhabi Hilton made reservation for us at Capital Grand and provided transportation. The front desk associate at Capital Grand was amazing. He offered us an upgrade to Deluxe Suite with Terrace. As soon as I stepped into the room, I was transformed -- all of my travel woes melted away. The room was spacious, modern and inviting. Shortly, the hotel delivered a fresh fruit platter -- at 4am -- how awesome is that. It was at that moment I wished that we were staying for more than just one night. After a heavenly 5 hour sleep, we went to breakfast in the hotel restaurant , which was the second moment I wished our stay was longer. The selection was extremely generous and even though it was buffet, servers were constantly at our table to bring whatever food or drinks we desired. More on the room (we stayed in Room 219) - the Deluxe Suite with Terrace has separate bedroom, full seating dining table, spacious living room, balcony AND yes, a private, quiet and lovely terrace accessible from the bedroom. Checkout was an equally pleasant experience, but what happened afterwards was the third moment I wished my stay was longer. Capital Grande contacted Abu Dhabi Hilton for our ride back to that property. While we sat and waited in the lobby for the car, the manager came over to offer us coffee/tea. The most wonderful cup of coffee was brought to us. I must say that the location is not as ideal as Abu Dhabi Hilton, but I hated to leave and would definitely return to Capital Grand to be treated like royalty.
Needed to relax after a hard week so booked into the Mizan Spa for a 2 hour massage with Phakhwan. She was exceptional to the point of being able to un-knot my back in a way that was not too painful. The entire Spa staff are very attentive and I can whole hart-idly recommend a visit.
"Great hotel but annoying issues"
This is a lovely, modern hotel on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. The rooms are really well appointed, the public areas spacious and welcoming and for the most part the staff are friendly and polite. The hotel is a good 20 minute drive to downtown (Corniche Sheraton area) outside the rush hour and double that in traffic. The hotel has a pub but be warned: it is run separately from the hotel, they will not let you charge anything to your room and they do not accept American Express. For me that was frustrating. My room had a really fancy coffee machine that used small Keurig-style pods, but there were no pods, just a couple of small packets of instant coffee and a kettle. So what is the point of the fancy machine'
"Near Grand Mosque"
It is a nice hotel. The room was clean and modern. Location is great and near Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Easy to drive there and plenty of parking. We ate at the sushi restaurant in the hotel, it tasted good but pricey. Overall, I like the hotel.
"The worse service ever for a 5* hotel"
Make sure that you don't have any takeaway food to get warmed in this hotel. It was a challenge that lasted for 40min. When the famous meat balls of Buca di Beppo were back in my room, they were still cold and the pasta too. Thanks to Hilton Grand Capital for messing up my first experience with this dish and thanks to his manager for explaining me how difficult it was to find a micro-wave. Ridiculous. A hotel I would never recommand. Fortunately I did not have to ask to get my baby's food warmed.
