Estancia agradable Zona de piscinas recomendableComment of Y. LILIANA , Colombia the 2016-10-07
Miguel Bermudez was first class for check in! He helped me find a great room and then would ask me how my stay was going every time I walked through the lobby! That is first class service! This hotel is wonderful. I even had a hair cut in the beauty salon and it was great! The hotel is a little dated however the people and wonderful time you have here makes up for it. I can't wait to go back! It is worth upgrading to the executive lounge.
"Great service and really nice hotel"
My husband and I stayed here at the beginning part of our two week trip for our wedding in Cartagena. From the second we got to this hotel, the service was impeccable. From the bellman, to pool service, laundry service, etc. it was all amazing. The typical food down by the beach was good (my husband is Colombian and from the coast and LOVED the food), and so was the poolside food and room service we ordered. The pools were the biggest attraction to us, we had family from both sides in Cartagena and were able to have a large number of people with us at the pool, and were treated as guests, which we appreciated. The breakfast buffet was amazing, the food was so good and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We wished we would have stayed at this hotel during the last leg of our trip, but definitely plan to come back again! Great hotel for couples and families.
"Other hotels are available but ..."
Check-in was seamless, but getting into the room was slightly problematic. We were finally allocated 911 (not one for the Americans). It doesn't have a sea view and therfore doesn't have the sun blasting in the window all day so the room is pleasantly cool. The bathroom is nice, spacious and clean and the beds are firm and comfortable. My issue with the room is the number of times I have had to get the entry cards recoded - currently 3 times. Breakfast is good with a wide variety of choice. The only food we've had from the pool menu has been pizzas and they were disappointing - very thin base, huge quantities of pineapple chunks, a bit of ham and not enough cheese for the Hawaiian. The Margherita was equally wrong. The attraction of this hotel to us was the pool complex. 3 pools and a waterside plus two spa type tubs. Great for keeping the kids amused. There is a bloke tasked with ensuring no one acts dangerously. The black sand beach provides a hunting ground for a variety of beach vendors offering every trip available along with massages and jet skis. The vendors though aren't pushy and accept that no means no. All in all a nice place visit and if I were asked would I come back the answer would be: Yes.
It is an older hotel but well maintained. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The private pools are very nice and the beach is not as bad as some people have said. Tell the locals "no thank you" don't let them touch you and don't show any interest in their goods. They are just trying to make a buck. If you are overly polite they will stay by your side. DO NOT GO to the steakhouse on site. They are over priced and the food is not worth it. The night we went the air conditioning unit puffed dirt out through out the restaurant. We had finished our meal and were having coffee when it happened but the staff acted like it was no big deal and we were wrong to even complain. There are lots of better restaurants throughout the old city. pay the $5 and go to the city. The daily breakfast was expensive compared to what could be found outside the hotel, but for convenience was well worth it.
"good hotel but housekeeping bad"
