"Great hotel, great location"
Hilton Cartagena is a perfect combination for a beach and city holiday, with a clean safe environment for relaxing on days or times of day when not exploring the beautiful historical city center sights. Everything worked well and service was friendly.
"Great Hotel, far from old city "
The Hilton was great, it's at the end of boca grande. It had a private beach and a great pool area for lounging on those hot summer days. This hotel definitely needs a refresh, the executive lounge had some interesting sections during the cocktail hour. The restaurants had a great selection and great service. All in all the hotel had great staff, very clean and was easy to get to all the cities main attractions.
"Great for beach and pools"
Very Nice hotel located at the end of the strip. Beaches are OK if you don't mind dealing with an endless onslaught of locals selling everything from massages to oysters. Much better are the beautiful pools. Clean and friendly. In pool bar fr great drinks. Lots of service. Food there is also excellent
"Awesome Holiday Stay"
We arrived on Christmas Eve, stayed until New Years Eve. The hotel looked like it was going to be crazy packed for New Years Eve Celebration. The week we were there, we had a fabulous corner sweet, plenty of room for 3 of us. Full balcony. two bathrooms. King size bed and bedding were excellent. As long as one has access to executive lounge, it really doesn't matter which floor you stay on. Executive lounge breakfast was subpar, but breakfast in restaurant was wonderful. A staff person was carving fresh fruit every morning, like papaya, mango, pineapple, plums, bananas, apples, and creating art on the plate. The pools were kept very clean, jacuzzi's at different temperatures. Beach was spotless, probably the best swimming beach I have ever enjoyed. Water was shallow for quite a distance, so could really enjoy. Sand here is so fine, it didn't get into your clothes, or stick to your skin. Plenty of security, and active life guard on the ocean. The restaurant for dinner, was beautiful, excellent service, and wonderful food, from ceviche to beef tenderloin. Great wines by the glass as well. Had an amazing visit. While this hotel is in a hotel zone, you are only a $5 cab ride from old town.
"Labor Day in Carta"
Went down to Cartagena for Labor Day my friend loves the Hilton and is a Hilton honors member VIP and etc etc. Booked two rooms for the weekend first night we get there we find out that they only have one room available and maybe another one the next night they mentioned comping us one night. We are a group of four dudes so right away I'm not in a good mood long flight and then it was raining and now this. So right away I decide I'm pulling an all night there is no way I'm sharing a room with 3 other guys surprised they at least gave us two beds. Went out to check out the town and the party scene didn't come back to the hotel until 6 am with some more friends and went straight to the beach and then decided to catch the free breakfast which is ehhh w/e for a 4 star hotel I'm expecting a good meal. Hit up the pool it's 9am now and I'm chilling with a friend at the pool go check to see if the other room is ready nope decide to hop in the pool and wait fell asleep on a pool chair until our room was ready. 2pm and still no room I go wake up my friend ands they come to the pool and we start drinking again we spend like $200 bucks on food and drinks I ordered fried fish which was horrid no flavor fish was dry even looked old. Other friend ordered a hamburger I don't know why but that thing looked microwaved. Awful only pleasant thing was the expensive Zacapa rum we love to drink also the pool staff let us use the Bluetooth speaker and we put our tunes while we drank away the afternoon waiting for the second room. Finally get the second room it's 4-pm now hit up the town looking for some decent ceviche. Come back rest and then go out again. The hotel is guest friendly as long as the guest registers at the front desk with their ID. President was there that second day heavy security and streets were blocked off. Taxis at the Hilton always try to get you since apparently that is a high end hotel in Cartagena. Pool is decent food is awful wifi was ok. You would think hey we messed up their reservation maybe we should take care of these guys right. Well nope breakfast was ehh again wouldn't buy it only went ther because it was free. Lastly we all had different flights out so we checked out early on our last night which was an ordeal since they were charging us the full stay which was bull crap and we had to get a manager involved etc etc... overall wayyyyy too expensive of a hotel not in the best of shape and service was bad not to mention the room issue too far from the walled city food is crap and I was the first to leave and they had the audacity to hold me at the front because they though I was skipping on the room bill. Another issue when I was trying to leave and catch an early flight smh next time I'm staying at the Hyatt especially for the amount of money these two rooms cost us with the crap service and food.
