Excellent hotel in brilliant location with friendly and attentive staff although food service in evenings is expensive. Location set on lovely sheltered cove is probably with very few equals -- 5 starComment of M. Darrell , United Kingdom the 2015-04-08
"Very good service"
As a diamond member I redeemed some of my point for a 9 night stay at this location. Outdated building but the service and pool maked up for that. Delicious breakfasts but we didn't not appreciate the fact that birds walked over silverware which we put into our mouths. Bird droppings on tables. Love nature but this wasn't acceptable. I highly recommend the Carribean Sea Sports dive shop which is conveniently located on the beach. We did our advanced scuba certification with them and it was fun. Generally we were happy with our stay and will certainly come back and recommend it to friends.
My wife and I wanted to get away to recharge for 4 days. We chose Hilton in Curacao. Great spot, great people and great care by Hilton. We were greeted by name and the Hilton group went the extra mile to make sure we were well taken care of!
"Great for family vacation!"
The hotel grounds include a lot of activities. It has access to two beaches with a lot of corals and fish right there in the sea. A nice pathway around the sea takea you from the hotels beach to Panasasa beach. This path is awesome during the night if you want to have a little stargazing. The food is very good aside from the ceviche (kind of strange). And dinner is very good too for a not so expensive price. Staff friendliness is the star of this resort: you feel like home with all their smiles and attention to your needs. Things to improve: the kids pool was very filthy and we basically could not use it. And during breakfast there are a lot of flies around you. Almost forgot to mention the scuba academy and easy of renting diving and snorkeling gear. Plus the Seaworld explorer takes off from the pier. So you have very much to do for everyone in the family. I would go back each time I can...
"Dangerous place to stay !"
We stayed at the Hilton Curacao December 9, 2016 due to a plane layover problem. PAWA airlines put us up there to wait for a plane to Aruba. The kiddie pool was full of GREEN SCUM and so dangerous to families. The Zika virus is a problem there and this smelly pool is the perfect breading ground for mosquitoes and other nasty viruses and infections. When I told the front desk, they said they were going to remodel the pool in the future. I told them they need TO DRAIN THE POOL TODAY ! Needless to say they did not drain the pool. The main restaurant (open air) is right next to this mess and the lunch/bar is on the other side with out any working fans because they have an ongoing electrical problem. See attached pictures. The management was just awful and incompetent. They were suppose to inform us when PAWA had a flight for our group to Aruba. We checked with them 15 times during the day and told us each time they would let us know once PAWA contacted them. At 4:30 my husband saw members of our group in the lobby and said PAWA had a flight and we were leaving in 30 minutes. The desk never made any attempt to inform us, When we asked why they didn't contact us they said it was our responsibility to check with them. What' 15 times during the time frame of 8 am - 2 pm was not enough' The hotel is in dire need of remodeling! The mini golf was playable TEN YEARS AGO, MAYBE! Completely overgrown with weeds. The dangerous extension cords lying on the ground in the wet puddles makes this place so unsafe to walk around. DO NOT LET THE AIRLINES DROP YOU AT THIS DUMP ! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
"What Customer Service'"
Wow - where do I begin' As a frequent traveler, I always go out of my way to do research on the best hotels, restaurants and cultural haunts to ensure my vacation checks the boxes on comfort, relaxation and memorable experiences. This time I listened to the JetBlue rep who convinced me that the Hilton was "wonderful." I couldn't disagree more. The facilities are outdated and if that wasn't enough, customer service is non-existent. In fact, it's as if the staff has been trained in a focused lack of attention. They avoid lifting their heads to make eye contact and are more concerned with completing tasks (eg wrapping silverware, removing Christmas decorations, stacking placemats) than serving guests. And when you do successfully manage to wave someone down (and I do mean wave), the service is slow. Only one drink is made at a time and simple dishes like nachos take over 20 minutes. (WARNING: don't get the nachos. They fry their own and they come out greasy with very little cheese or salsa). The Hilton Curaçao lacks an overall good energy and pleasantness that you would hope to find on vacation. The staff doesn't seem to possess much joy and that permeates the entire resort leaving a bit of a somber or lackluster vibe. I'm starting with the cons, obviously. To some, these may be minor. To those used to a certain standard, the following are bare minimum for any hotel accommodations. CONS: - Awful customer service - No where to rinse sand off your feet. Guess it will have to be my shower - No drying line in the bathroom to hang wet bathing suits - No beachside food or drink service - Rocky beach - No music PROS: - Diving - Live music once per week - Casino on premises (mostly slots, 3 table games) - Decent on-site restaurant - Close to downtown. The hotel offers a free shuttle twice per day In short, stay at one of the many other beautiful resorts in curaçao. For the same price the Hilton charges, you could stay somewhere that justifies the price.
