"Pricey perhaps but convenient for an overnight stay between flights"
Large, well appointed rooms, typical Hilton. Free shuttle from the airport, 2 Euros to return. Very good bar. Breakfast buffet was extensive but hot items were all cold, both days. Buses across the street go to downtown Dublin - perhaps 30 minutes - fare is cheap. Not much else around. Staff was excellent - most accommodating, friendly and well informed.
"Last rooms available in Dublin mean something"
There was literally no room available in 4* hotels in Dublin but this one was an exception. Once I got there, I understood why. Far from the airport and far far further to the city center. Nowhere to go outside the hotel. Quality of rooms and bathrooms could be better. Housekeeping really needs improvement. Pluses - restaurant is okeyish, nice personnel at the reception desk. Gym was not bad.
"last night in Dublin"
Very clean, good location .Close to bus routes and a shopping Centre. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was good with a good selection of food. There were few stores in the area , and short bus ride from the castle.
"pre flight overnight stay"
This has to be one my worst hotel experiences. I booked the Hilton which is quite a bit away from the airport because I have stayed in Hilton hotels all over the world. It was considerably more expensive that other closer hotels. When we got to our room around six o clock we adjusted the airconditioning to its lowest as my wife has a skin issue which flares up with heat. We decided to dine there also and returned to our room 2 hours later to check the heat. the room was still 24 degrees, we called reception who advised the system was not airconditioning but air distribution and we had to turn on the fan, this did not nor could not reduce the heat in the room, there are no opening vents in the windows. they do not put on the airconditioning system to save money, this is verging on if not a breach of building regulations as there has to be either airconditioning or opening vents in a room i believe I got food poising from the steak dinner, which was garnished with half of a garlic which I had to ask what it was and who would eat half a garlic, just unbelievable we were there for 6 hours sleep as we had a 3.30 call for a 6 am flight, I was sick all night the room stayed at 24 degrees next morning response from tall gentleman at reception was and I quote "it is what it is" credited our carparking NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY IN THIS HILTON
"Clean and Comfortable"
Love the Hilton Airport Dublin - clean comfortable rooms. Staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was made fresh and the waitstaff was great. Our overall experience was great. Should we come back to Dublin we will stay again.
