"3 night stay"
I stayed here for 3 nights during February, great location for all areas of Edinburgh. Close enough to walk most places of interest. Hotel is very modern with nice restaurant and reception area. I would look at stopping here my next trip.
"Weekend Budget Trip to Edinburgh"
We booked a Budget one night stay in Edinburgh with First Class Rail travel from Wigan. The hotel was just a few minutes walk from Haymarket Station and we were warmly greeted on arrival. We were early but were able to book in and go to our room., We were given a map and advice on how to get to various sights, as we had never been to Edinburgh before. The room was a little dated and not much of a view from the window, but, hey! we were only there one night. After a long day in Edinburgh we found the bar prices not far removed from pub prices, and there were no complaints about the buffet breakfast next morning, with the "egg cook" doing my fried eggs to perfection. More than enough to ensure we only needed a very light snack for lunch. I have no idea about the room prices normally, but with our package, the deal was superb!
"Extremely Disappointing "
Positives - Staff tried hard to rectify our complaints - Food in the bar was nice - Barman Tom was fantastic and accommodating - 1 minute walk from the tram and 1 stop from Murrayfield where we were going - Beds relatively comfy, slept well Negatives - Rooms extremely dated (I say rooms, we ended up staying in the 4th room shown) - Rooms needed a more thorough clean, lamps were dirty, something spilt on wardrobe, stain on seat - Bathrooms in particular were dirty in the first two rooms, tiles dirty and some broken - Poorly presented rooms, for example, Pipe work showing in bathroom, wallpaper peeling off walls, very rough joinery work - One room was very noisy as next to the air conditioning, would not of been able to sleep - Breakfast was warm and no more, nothing labelled - Chairs dirty in restaurant - Most furniture in rooms were damaged - Carpets stained - Bar was cold Although it may not seem like it we are not the types to complain and have never had any bother at the majority of the hotels we have stayed at but this experience was awful. Had it been earlier we would of got a refund and left as we really were fed up with all the rooms. It has to be said the staff did try to satisfy us but there really wasn't much they could do as it was the quality of all the rooms which was the problem. When we checked out and told the reception staff we got the impression they had heard it before! First time staying in a Hilton, will not be back.
"Fantastic birthday stay "
We stayed here for my wife's birthday the staff really went above and beyond to be helpful. Location is good it's close enough to the center but not to busy. Rooms well furnished and very comfortable recently refurbished it seems. Well designed with plenty of power comfy seating, quality beds and great bathroom. Super easy to get to and from on public transport direct tram link from airport and into center. Breakfast is great quality and staff where super friendly. No ask was too much trouble. Good room service Menu with plenty of choice. Staff very helpful about local area. Strongly recommend!
"Weekend exploring Edinburgh "
Beautiful building in a great location in the west end, this hotel could be a great "quirky" place due to the different levels etc on each floor but it's in desperate need of a refit - bathrooms are more basic than a Travelodge- not what you would expect from a Hilton...
