Room was nice, bed was really comfortable, shower was great. Hotel was overall nice and the staff are friendly. But, £120 I think we paid for one night, website says standard wifi is free but when you get there you have to buy it. Also tells you films are on demand in the rooms but does not mention that they are around £9.95 each. Nice, but would have liked a little more for what we paid.
"Compact means compact!"
Stayed here on business. Positives 1. Comfortable bed. Very comfortable bed 2. Decent bathroom, although shower pressure wasn't greatest but it was clean 3. Room had all you need. I'm getting sick of hotels not having irons and tea making facilities especially if classing themselves as business. This hotel still has everything 4. The room climate control actually works. Unlike most hotels I could actually keep the room cool at night! 5. Friendly staff. 6. Decent enough location, beside Haymarket tram stop and 15 minutes walk from castle and royal mile. Negatives 1. The compact room was small, I mean very small, it was a real Harry Potter suite, and my room was even under a set of stairs! So had the real Privit Drive feel! 2. The room is so small the bed is up against the wall and the TV is on a wall that it cannot be watched on! I think the bathroom might be bigger than the bedroom! 3. The breakfast was ok, just ok, I've had better, I've had worse. The hotel compact room is fine enough for a short business stay, can't imagine what it would be like if you were there as a tourist for a week! The price was decent for the standard
"A quality hotel with a service to match"
The room was light and airy and spotless. the bed was massive and comfy. Breakfast was help yourself to anything continental and full cooked breakfast. Staff were very friendly and polite Could not fault this hotel would definitely recommend
"One Night Stay"
Stayed here only for one night but it was as expected. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful but not particularly warm. The hotel is nice but needs a bit of a spruce up in many places. Our room was huge and the bathroom was adequate but the bathroom light switch was across the room by the main door which was a bit of a nuisance when hopping out of bed during the night for a wee but had to navigate the bedroom to switch the light on. And, the pipe at the back of the sink was old and yellow. Could it not be boxed in'
Just returned from the Hilton Edinburgh , cannot fault the staff but the room was very small bed was not very wide for a double and one side was right up to the wall and it was fixed was nightmare to get in and out of bed , the bed was very small not as good as travel lodge up the road and three times the price , we will think twice before staying again .
