When arriving by car it is almost obligatory to pay to be parked, at reception insisting that you stay in a superior room. After a few days you are loading expenses that do not exist on the card and take time to return them. Nothing advisable.
"Valet! Lost car keys!!"
Going downhill.... Rental car (fully loaded with luggage and family - 1 very nervous, travel sick passenger) keys lost by Valet in the space of 2 minutes as we checked out and heading to MIA. After searching for over an hour, they offered to drive us to catch our flight. Had a nerve racking (traffic, flight to catch, driver texting & not using express land & tailgate light out) to the airport explaining they would return the rental for us when they found the keys! Took my email address and said they would be in touch. That was the last we heard! No email or explanation! We chased this up with a few people in Management after being home a couple of days, now been home for 2 weeks, car was returned and they have offered to pay incurred charges as a result! Stay around 5/6 weeks a year at this hotel, always been well looked after by Management and the whole team who valued this loyalty............And appreciated the financial aspect of this! There are many who work here who deserve a BIG shout out as they are great - Shane,Coyen, Philip, Arlene, Claudia, Elvira, Nick, Ryan and Mark, Denisz and the lovely lady who vacuums tirelessly to try and ensure a sand free lobby!! However, new Management obviously don't value loyalty ( or maybe they don't understand the importance of guaranteed repeat business!) and so that was our last stay!
"Great Service, Friendly and beautiful room with a view"
We stayed here for 4 days in January of 2017. We had the two bedroom suite that was wonderful. The layout was great and it had a full kitchen, which we didn't use but it was nice to have the option. The bathroom was very nice along with the wrap around balcony. The star of this property were the employees. Every one of them we came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. I would say the only area we felt had a attitude was the Coffee shop where you could go to get your free Coffee and Danish. Some mornings they were great but it was hit or miss. One time I picked up a fruit cup that was $5.50 and was quickly told that was not included in the deal which I was expecting to pay for but instead just put it back and walked out. Overall we had a very nice visit from valet to checkin to checkout. Just remember this is a resort and it is a good idea to take a stack of $5. If I had a negative it was the $34.95 parking fee per day for a guest in the hotel and then tipping the Valet made that price even harder to take but there is no other choice if you have a car. So make sure you add about another $70 per day to the rate to cover the resort fee and parking.
"Difficult Check In, Overpriced, Hidden Costs, Not the Right Choice on the Beach"
The front desk ruined our time at this Hotel north of the strip in Fort Lauderdale. We booked the room using Trip Advisor, but the Hotel gave us a really hard time with the confirmation number, and then told me that I couldn't get Hilton Honors Rewards because I used a third party to book the room. How could I have known that' It's not the reasoning for the way this happened, it's the way they did it. Telling me to get off the line to check in, completely disregarding my years of being an Honors member, etc. The room rate went from $345 to almost $500 in the blink of an eye, adding on surcharges, parking ($35), you name it. The room was small and faced the back of the hotel. Watch the advertised room rate, since they advertise every room in the hotel as water view, and charge accordingly, while every room faces the water, just not the ocean. No balcony, tight quarters, just not worth the price. The Hotel is a walk from the restaurants and there are other hotels just as nice and cheaper closer to the strip. Given the issues I encountered, I would stay somewhere else. In fact, I may stay away from Hiltons altogether.
"My new fav Hilton!"
Oh my! This one is nice. My husband and I Iove this Hilton Beach Resort. We were in the area about 10 years ago when they were building this location. They did a phenomenal job and in a prime location with walking distance to great restaurants. The staff was amazingly wonderful. Edward took very good care of us upon check-in. I booked an ocean view but upon arrival, we did not have an ocean view room. Edward made sure we had our ocean view junior suite. We had a small kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, and two stove top burners. There are restaurants, fitness room, pool, clothing & gift shop, and Starbucks right on the premises. The room was spacious and gorgeous. The views of the ocean and Intracoastal are spectacular. We got sunset and sunrise pics. Thank you Hilton. This is definitely a model for other resorts. We will return. No negatives here.
