"zero wow factor"
Nothing terrible, just that work was paying so I splashed out on a queen de luxe room which I was looking forward to and it was not special in any way, quite small, no bath tub, very bland average-sized room and no personality. I also had a poor night's sleep, the bed and pillow got very warm, however I did have a few drinks earlier been to a party in the evening so that may have been me! Both ladies in reception courteous and friendly. Place undergoing refurb but that didn't bother me. Breakfast was buffet, everything there but quality not great in my opinion, eg watery scrambled eggs and mushrooms, cheap-tasting hash browns. Location perfect.
"Good clean city centre Hotel"
Clean & modern hotel in the city centre, friendly staff with good knowledge. Only dropped one star off because the food (sirloin steak) wasn't the best, asked for medium, was much closer to well done not a jot of pinkness in the middle and it was thin and a little dry, other than that didn't taste to bad had a hint of chargrill about it. I would stay here again without a doubt but maybe pop to a local restaurant for food. Can't comment on breakfast as had a very early check out and didn't get a chance to try.
"Clean room and bed"
A mid week bolt hole for a concert at the Barclaycard Arena. Having previous experience of getting away from the venue by car. You are obviously paying mid week rate, in the growing new heart of commercial Brum. The room was clean, bed hard, linen nice standard, otherwise highly unremarkable. No bottled water or biscuits which seem a basic these days. Didn't bother with breakfast as it added another expense. Plenty of places nearby to grab breakfast or sit and watch the commercial hub of this new part of the City go by.
"Clean room, small and average service"
Very good location with very poor room. Parking not free of charge. Hotel is placing in restaurant area. But in hotel itself was not possible to find food after 9 pm. Room is clean, but the bed is small for twoo.
"A decent hotel if you like a hard bed"
The hotel's location is perfect for the ICC, Symphony Hall and Barclaycard Arena. The room was slightly compact but it worked and was clean and bright. The shower was a reasonable size space and had a powerful flow. The wall mounted TV was fairly large and of good quality. The breakfast was ample and fresh despite the current refurbishment activities. The staff were enthusiastic, polite and helpful. The downside was that the bed was too hard for us.
