"Frozen food but nice venue"
I have been invited to a party at hilton hotel in glasgow. I was very surprised for the quality of the food! Hamburgers probably frozen and heat up in a microwave (they were very hard), meat inside didn't have any taste and the chips were also microwaved. All tasteless and frozen.... in macdonald's u can find better.
"Overnight stay for a function"
Excellent hotel, with friendly and helpful staff in all areas. Comfortable and clean bedroomThe only disappointing area related to lack of gluten free snacks in bar and menu alternatives in function room.
"Horrific experience - DO NOT VISIT"
I stayed overnight on 12th Jan 2017 for business. My debit card was used for a £50 holding amount. At this point I advised my colleague would be paying for my room as well as his in the morning on his business account. Advised this was fine. Upon checkout on the morning of Friday 13th my colleague and I went to checkout whereby my colleague advised he was paying for my room and his. The member of staff even commented how lucky I was. This was done and an invoice was given to my colleague for my room and his and the member of staff even confirmed the card number to him. Upon return it turns out that Hilton Glasgow have charged me the £50 AND a £89 day rate for my room despite that not being our wishes. I have now become overdrawn because of this. I phone up to clarify and was rudely told that yes they charged my card and there was nothing they could do to help. I never even got an invoice or receipt to say they were charging me. Absolutely disgusted with this hotel and will recommend my company never use them again.
Stayed for one night on a trip to Glasgow. Checked in on line so very quick at reception. Asked for a room on a lower level to avoid using lifts. Twin room on Floor 5 was clean comfortable and had everything you could need. Not the most modern room but in good condition. Had a meal outside the hotel, but did use the lounge for a drink. Not cheap, but what you would expect for a city centre hotel. Breakfast had a wide choice with freshly cooked eggs to your liking. Mostly good, but some items could have been warmer, tables are a bit close, and staff were slow to clear tables. Used the pool and sauna. Small, but clean and adequate. Gym looked well equipped. Express check out is available. A good nights stay, and I would se the hotel again.
"Expensive, But worth every penny"
Travelled on business in June 2016 to visit clients in Glasgow. I have stayed wt this hotel many times before and always found it to be a good place to be. I booked a suite with outside balcony (3rd time now in the exact same room!!) Access from the reception is via lift and you need your keycard to operate the lift. The suite is a good size with a great and separate working area with ample power sockets. Staying in a suite of booking a club room gets free WiFi and the club lounge access means free food and drinks up until 8pm (and includes alcoholic drinks and good array of snacks and appetisers.) Large double bed, good sized TV (although not a patch on the club rooms at the Village Hotels) and with the added bonus of an outside balcony(especially if you are a smoker - I'm not anymore ) with great views across the surrounding areas and because you are so high up, you can see for miles.... (see attached panoramic photo)
