"Overall nice but a few issues that need to be addressed."
When we arrived at 5pm, the receptionist told us that our room was not ready (this hotel check in time is 4pm). Her recommendation was for us to pay extra to get another room, larger, that was available immediately. As we were reluctant to pay the extra $30/night she offered $20 and finally $15. We were told that in addition to get a larger room we would get an ocean and golf view but we couldn't hardly see the ocean. We were charged immediately over twice the price of every night (instead of charging the price of the deal we got, the hotel charges the rack rate plus and additional $100 per night for accidentals): in other words, instead of being charged at check in roughly $500, we were charged $1090. The receptionist told us extra amounts charged will be credited at check out. The extra unpleasant experience: Dead mosquitoes are on the ceiling (photo). The positive sides of the experience is: it is quiet, hotel staff friendly, very nice rooms space wise and design wise (except for the dead mosquitoes!).
This hotel is fantastic! The property is stunning and has great views of the ocean and the golf course. The rooms are very nice, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. I was not able to visit the pool due to rainy weather, but I still had a great experience. Overall, I will definitely come back!
"Hilton Torrey Pines great location"
We like to stay here because of the location. We love to be able to walk/run to Torrey Pines Reserve and it is close to North County San Diego where we spend most of our time. Also centrally located (15 mins from San Diego airport). If you play golf, hotel is next door to Torrey Pines golf course which is amazing with views of the ocean.
"Beatiful views and location!"
I accompanied my husband who was on a business trip. Although he had to work, there was plenty for me to do and stay busy. The hotel staff and service was excellent and our room was clean, updated and quiet. Bed & pillows were super comfy too. The hotel location was within walking distance to Torrey Pines Reserve which has many walking and hiking trails above the cliffs of the ocean and and ideal place to spend the morning or afternoon. (The concierge has maps available for guests.)The hotel offers dining availability but we found it to be rather expensive and there are so many great restaurants along the coast. However that being said, it was nice to go down to the bar in the evening and grab a bite and beer. The pool looked beautiful and several guests looked to be enjoying some exercise however I didn't try it out. I also took advantage of the proximity to the Coaster commuter train station (Sorrento Valley station) and traveled north to Carlsbad one day. The views were amazing and it was easy to navigate and only $5 for a one-way ticket! I highly recommend if you want to check out some other beach communities along the coast. And of course there were plenty of golfers enjoying the amazing location & views! I would recommend the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines to both business travelers and vacationers.
"Lovely hotel with friendly and efficient service!"
The staff here is superb! Our family recently stayed here on a short vacation in La Jolla. The grounds are lovely and the rooms are a good size, clean and well maintained. Each room seems to have a scenic view of the grounds and ocean. We had a small service issue which was immediately and very conveniently addressed. The outdoor pool is a good size, very nice with comfortable lounges. The fitness center is well equipped and easy to use. Krista at the Front Desk was very helpful and sweet; really the entire staff was very pleasant, eager to help and welcoming.
