"Not bad but a few faults"
I swayed between giving a 3/4 rating but eventually decided that 4 was fairer. Pros: - great location; close to Westfield Mall with it's shops and restaurants and to the interesting Holland Park area which was lovely to walk around - shared areas were clean, looked great and staff were friendly - the room, while small, was fine for our purposes and we hardly spent any time in it anyway - empty fridge in room meant that we could store our own drinks - complementary toiletries were good quality - our room overlooked the middle of the hotel and we had no noise either from the street or the hotel Cons: - our twin beds were very noisy to sleep on, creaking noisily for no real reason; luckily we were so tired we slept anyway! - breakfast, while tasty was very expensive at £19.50 each (I'd suggest pre-ordering for £14 if you want this) - the bath was old, poorly grouted and had chipboard surround which was ugly - the room was full of strange notices telling us not to overfill the bath in case it flooded and not to hang coat hangers on the sprinkler system which seemed a little unnecessary If you stay here I'd suggest using Holland Park tube rather than Shepherd's Bush. While it is closer to Shepherd's Bush you have to walk round a huge roundabout which can only be done in stages and is pretty ugly. The walk from Holland Park is much more pleasant and not very far.
"Great price and good location."
We stayed at the Kensington Hilton as Hilton Honors members and it was perfect. The hotel is very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. Our room was typical for a European double standard room, but it was great. Location was also great it was out a little which afforded a better price on the room, but the tube station was a 5 minute walk and a 20 minute ride into the old city of London or the British Museum. Good location. It is also closed to one of the biggest malls we had ever been to with many great restaurants.
I've stayed here a few times and overall I would stay again. On the plus side it can be very quiet, which is always good. Also, it has a really good breakfast buffet with an excellent choice. You are also about 2 minutes from Shepherds Bush tube and the the Westfield Shopping Centre. I agree it is getting a bit tired, the rooms are small, it isn't central. Personally these aren't a massive issue. Finally, on my last visit all the staff I met were very friendly.
Reasonably priced city hotel, stayed for 2 nights, has all you need for a business or sight seeing trip to the capitol. Would happily recommend and would definitely use again. Has a proper hotel feel with huge foyer, front desk, concierge etc. Spacious, comfortable bar area with food available all day. Book B&B if you intend to have breakfast, if you decide on impulse it costs far more! Well placed for Kensington and a short walk to Notting Hill.
"Good quality hotel with excellent staff."
I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions over a number of years. It is conveniently located. The staff are courteous, helpful and responsive to one's needs. Access to the Executive Lounge is an added bonus for those times when one get's back to the hotel during the afternoon before heading out for the evening.
