"Outstanding and fabulous"
Every aspect of this hotel is excellent. Egypt is an incredible country - maybe the most incredible in the world - but it's a third world place. A hotel of this quality is a must to ensure you can escape to relax when you've had it with the endless filth and mountains of trash that are everywhere in Luxor (and Cairo). You can pay a lot less to stay elsewhere in Luxor...do so if you prefer that to a better experience. Otherwise stay here: you won't regret it. BTW, the pools are heated to a perfect temperature.
The best Hilton that we have stayed at on our world travels. Amazing location and views across the Nile to The Valley of the Kings. The rooms are excellent with good beds and clean bathrooms, with a view of the Nile should you wish. Sleep quality was excellent. The breakfast buffet is second to none and the best yet experienced at a Hilton Hotel. The hotel was very quiet but if you are going to Luxor then treat yourself and stay here,as the location is prime and only minutes from downtown and the tourist sights. A room over looking the pool area is recommended to avoid the sounds of morning prays from the nearby mosque.
"Excellent, fantastic, fabulous"
How good is this hotel' Very, very good. Brilliant location on the Nile with infinity pools, great restaurants and amazing attention to detail. A true, five star hotel in every sense. Lots of vegetarian food options. Super clean and lots of class. All the staff were attentive and super professional but a special mention must go to Ahmed at the spa. His service and commitment to his job is 7 stars. I've never quite experienced anything quite like it. Some important tips for Luxor: 1. The best and most cost effective way to get to the west bank tombs is to simply walk outside the front gate of the Hilton and grab a taxi for the day for 200 to 300 le total for two people. The driver will go south to the bridge and then take you wherever you want to go at the necropolis. The trip to the Valley of the Kings is less than half an hour. Don't get a guide - it's pointless. The west bank is a visual feast of tombs, temples and monuments all very close together and just a few dollars for each main sight. 2. We went with taxi driver Mohamed Lofty who was great. 3. We spent around 750 le for the day in total including entrance fees. That evening we met some people who had spent $300!!!!!! 4. The taxi ride from the Hilton to Luxor costs no more than 50 le. 5 Egypt feels safe, friendly and welcoming. Don't miss it. 6. Above all, keep your sense of humour!
I'd have to disagree with reviews saying the lobby and what not was outdated, everything looked beautiful and super nice. Remon made amazing cocktails and was so sweet! The whole staff was amazing, if I owned a hotel I would try to steal all of them to work for me :) Only things I could see that there could be improvement on: I'm not sure if they have non-smoking rooms, but we don't smoke and the room we had smelled of it (not to the point where it got on your clothes, but when you walk in you get a whiff of it) And my husband and I are pretty simple in the sense that we don't mind taking our own bags up to the room/down when we leave, I think asking if taking them up to the rooms is okay with us before just doing it (obviously for a tip) is the best way to go about it. The same with the pool. We came with our own towels but they made up the pool beds with towels anyways and when you are about to leave come out of the little building waiting for you to walk by because they are expecting a tip. Call me cheap, but I just don't like being EXPECTED to tip. We tip more than expected when it isn't expected, if that makes sense. Will definitely recommend this place to our friends and hope to come back!
Hotel could improve service as Egypt's tourism is in a downfall. Building is ageing and it shows. Strange to see such a forgotten Hilton. Food is decent. Rooms are old and ageing. Lobby is outdated, wifi is poor.
