Lovely food and really nice staff we had a group on voucher and we felt like royalty everyone really lovely we had two courses and it was lovely and we had olives and never had a bowl as big wonderful
I stayed here for one night and considering the brand name I was expecting more. What needs improving is the bland decor on the ground floor. The breakfast area is incorporated on the ground floor next to the reception and it just didn't work for me. The staff at reception were very good and welcoming. The lady admitting me to the breakfast area had the wrong information and asked me for payment before I was shown to a table and I had to remind her that my breakfast was included in the price paid. The bedroom was small but the clever ceiling to floor window did give it the feeling of spacious with a nice view over the city. It has a small pool on the 2nd floor which looked nice and a small well positioned gym which was well maintained. Parking in The Great Northern is 5 minutes walk away and if it's raining be sure to take a brolly, the hotel will subsidise your parking bill by 15%. I would stay here again but it will not be my first choice.
"Worthy of its 5 stars."
We stayed here last weekend. The views from the upper floors are super. The bar on the 23rd floor was always busy. The drinks are a little on the pricey side but you won't get a better view in Manchester The buffet breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of fruit, pastries, and hot plate choices. Again, I'm sure you can shop around for somewhere cheaper, but you usually get what you pay for, and this is a very good hotel to stay at while visiting Manchester.
For a relatively new Property the rooms were only OK cleanliness wise and showed signs of wear. The internet was unusually in my room (wireless dropouts constantly on multiple devices). Fairly disappointed with room allocation given hhnonors status. I'll likely avoid this hotel in future.
"Very good hotel"
Nice hotel, friendly and efficient service, large, well equipped and clean rooms, very comfortable beds, very clean and ordered throughout and excellent location in the heart of Manchester. If you have a car then parking is very close and about 25 per day. The breakfast was also excellent with a very wide choice. I guess that it is all that you would expect from a city centre Hilton. One negative - why, oh why, do they have to play thumpingly load music all the time, particularly at breakfast. What about some mellow soothing morning music'
