Airport hotels are good for one night stays. Usually far away from what matters, even if one has transportation, the distances make it impractical for anything other than sleeping. Hilton Airport is an exception. Due to its location, if you have a car, Coral Gables, which has boundaries with the airport, is 10 minutes away. Miami Beach is a straight drive of, again, 10 minutes. Goood restaurants and shops are likewise close enough if you rent a car (Dolphin Mall is very close). The hotel itself is pretty good, with a good size heated pool and very decent american breakfast. We recently stayed there for a week, visiting my two sons who live in Miami. Very satisfied. Staff friendly and helpful. Recommend without reservation. No pun intended.
Strongly recommend this Hotel to anyone wishing to visit the Miami area. It is conveniently located and close to several eating places and strip mall. There is also a grocery store and Starbuck's close by
"Hilton is Hilton."
Stayed one night, after a Caribbean cruise. Everything was fine. We were looking for an easy access to the airport, an it was. Great shuttle service. We were a family of six. We had made a reservation for 3 similar rooms. We got rooms on 3, 6 and 11 floor. Not happy for that, but again one night.
Room was great, large and clean. Ordered room service and food was great and service was fast. Breakfast was disappointing, it was a buffet and most of the hot food was cold. Room where breakfast was served was dingy but I believe the normal breakfast room is being remodelled.
"Worst Hotel: Security, Customer Service and Quality"
Where do I start - the first night I had dinner at the Coral Cafe and I waited an hour plus to be seated (everyone complained profusely) and the food was sub par. I could have gotten a better burger from a street cart. The room walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbor is doing. I was there on business so I needed to have adequate slee but my neighbors kept me up. There was garbage left over from the last guest who stayed in the room - nasty. There is no fitted sheet on the bed (you can't wash a hotel mattress between stays) so your potentially sleeping in someone else's sweat, etc. they have those breakfast cards ton put outside your door the night before for breakfast delivery in the morning. I put one out and they never picked it up so no breakfast was delivered and I had to get food elsewhere before my meetings (had no time planned to do that). They never replenished those forms so I called to get more, the guy delivering them just walked into my room, didn't knock, which is terribly inapproprkate. The room service staff spoke little to no English so my order was wrong constantly when I would order food. And lastly, I got a phone call after I ordered room service by someone identifying as hotel staff, that addressed me by name and my room number saying that the credit card they had on file to charge my room service to didn't work. I immediately felt weird because hotels usually don't charge your card until the very end. I declined to give her my card via the phone. I went to the front desk and said it wasn't any of them and my card was fine. Seems like someone in the hotel has a scam going. I checked out that night. I went and stayed at the Pullman Hotel which I had a great remainder of my 2 days in Miami. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, its clear the Hilton Miami is an airport hotel that doesn't care if patrons come back. It's for business people that don't generally expect great service because theyre working anyways.
