"If it wasnt next door to my office, I would never be coming back!"
Hilton miami unlike most of Hilton chains is quite old fashioned. Its not hilton tag worthy. Americans generally aren't welcoming so hospitality factor is not a question of satisfaction here. Rooms are quite big, view is nice (if you ask for the lagoon facing) . Bottle of water costs 3$ Breakfast is over priced, and if you are thinking to go out and eat then be prepared to walk 1.5miles for the local store or McDonalds etc. There's absolutely no soul of the road after 6.00PM so make sure your google is working well for directions (AT&T store for SIM card is at a distance of IKM. I would suggest to ditch SIM card available at the airport) Recommended for travelers who are working in nearby locations.
Stayed one night before travelling yo Naples. Huge hotel, our room was OK, it did have a curtain across for the shower which I hate. Thought reception was a bit cavonous, no real charm. It was fine for a one mightier. We had a little food which wasn't great. The staff were pleasant.
"Really enjoyed our stay"
My niece and I stayed here for 2 nights before a cruise. Had a wonderful time. Loved the food at the Coral Cove. Made to order omelets were delicious. Also tried the Grilled chicken with bacon mac and cheese which was very good. Staff very very helpful. One thing to note. This hotel is across the lagoon from the airport. You can definitely hear the planes takeoff and land continually. This was not a problem for me, but it might be for others. Our room was on the lagoon side. I can't really tell you if the other side of the hotel is quieter. If the planes do not bother you, then one really special treat was sitting on the pool deck at night watching the planes land. The come in really close.
"One bad employee can ruin an entire hotel stay"
My over 20 yr relationship with Trip Advisor will reflect that I've frequently given favorable hotel reviews and have not held back praise when service or hotel amenities warrant. I am a loyal Hilton Honors member since July 1997 and have stayed from the Waikoloa to SF O'Farrell to Quebec Cty and Munich Germany. I was livid this past Friday night regarding my reception at Miami Airport / Blue Lagoon and still not very happy. Mr. Lea---- Mod--- (I won't single him out on this public forum), you were rude to my wife and I. We had been delayed by American Airlines for four hours. We missed our connecting flight to Tampa and it wasn't our intention to spend the night in Miami. We had just given Hilton 200,000 points for a fantastic vacation at the Hilton Barbados hotel and AA simply couldn't get us home on time. When 8 fellow AA passengers / unplanned Hilton guests at 11:10 PM showed up in your lobby to check in, you didn't have to treat us like cattle. After an exhausting and frustrating day, I walked up to the Hilton Honors check-in line to provide you with the AA voucher and to get keys, go to our room and catch 5 hours of sleep prior to the 6:30 AM flight. "Sir, you need to get to the back of the line." My reply, "Oh, I am a Hilton Honors member." Displayed my card. "That makes NO difference he loudly exclaimed from 20 feet away. You do not have a Hilton Honors reservation at this property and you need to move away for the counter and get to the back of this line." Really' My HH members has an asterisk or conditions as to WHEN I am HH and when it does not apply' I would formally request that this can be clarified for me. I wanted to get some sleep and there was an attendant in the HH check-in station. I got to wait an extra 25 minutes before finally getting to Room 315. I told Mr. Mod--- (his badge noted he was an Assist Mgr) that he was rude and I did not appreciate being vocally called out with a fully lobby listening in. For what it is worth, a nice room. I've stayed at this hotel in the past but may not in the future. Yes, one bad employee can taint an entire hotel stay.
"Nice stay before heading to The Keys"
Lovely hotel, high quality rooms with gorgeous pool and nice facilities. Very quiet despite the proximity of Miami airport. Free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Breakfast was good but snacks/evening meals were expensive with an average quality.
