Hilton Munich Airport is the closest accommodation near Munich Airport. It can be reached by public transport, train, taxi or car very quickly. The Visitor Park at Munich Airport is an excellent way to spend pleasant moments before leaving. Munich city centre is just 40 minute far from the hotel and can be reached by S-Bahn train. Munich's main attractions, such as the German Museum, the Pinakotheken, the BMW World, the Bavarian National Museum are definitely worth a visit.
"Worth of money"
Staff were very kind. Jetlag friendly designed rooms makes you adapted. Very quiet and staying there were my best decision after 14 hours flight. If you have connection, hotel wakes you up upon near your boarding time as well.
"So convenient, comfortable and quiet"
We traveled by train from Venice following a cruise and were taking a flight back to the US the next day. The airport Hilton couldn't be beat for convenience, right in the terminal complex. Checkin was speedy, the room was huge, unlike most European hotels. The bed was excellent, the room quiet and we settled in for a blissful nights sleep. Checkout was painless and off we went to the terminal for our flight.
"This airport hotel delivers!"
This excellent airport hotel always had "good bones' under the previous Kempinski chain management, however it was beginning to show its age and the transition to the Hilton brand initially generated concerns wrt maintenance/upgrade etc. I am pleased to report that my recent stay allayed all these concerns and it has been renovated in a way that positions it as one of the best airport hotels I have ever stayed at. The combination of the large, well appointed modern rooms, attentive service, outstanding upgraded 24/7 gym, excellent breakfast buffet, etc. justify the price.
"Staff Makes The Difference"
Typical airport Hilton in terms of facilities, rooms, location right on airport site (walking distance to terminals although not covered). They are usually our first choice where they have hotels. What made this particular hotel special was the warm, personable, professional staff member (F Jesse) who checked us in. Immediately made wake up, shuttle and dinner reservations and then called very helpful bellman to assist us to our upgraded room! This took no more than 3-4 minutes immediately upon arrival. Other hotels could learn from his example. Room was fine and standard Hilton offer. They did not have a lounge at this site and since we were leaving before the restaurant opened for breakfast they comp'd us the mini bar but it had no wine, just beer and soda. The only reason for the 4 vs. 5 star was we thought the price of the buffet @48 euros per person plus drinks (11 euros for 1 liter bottle of Acqua Panna) was a little steep. Buffet was very good.
"An excellent airport hotel"
Once again we routed through Munich for our trip back to Canada and this was partially due to the Hilton and partially because we enjoy the airport Christmas Market this time of year and dinner at Air Brau. Although our stay was very good, a couple of small things this time led me to give 4 and not 5 for the rating. The first was that when I did online check-in the day before our arrival, our booking indicated that, as Diamond we had been upgraded to a junior suite (room 1002 was what I got when I did the online check-in). When we got there, we were told that we had been upgraded but not to a suite because a group was staying at the hotel and the suites were gone. Instead, we were in a room on the 3rd floor (3005). This was not a problem but it does make us question Hilton's policy on online check-in. This is the second time this has happened to us this year (the other time at a US property). While this is not the hotel's fault, it would be interesting to know why this happens. Does the hotel look and say, 'oh, let's move these people out of the room we confirmed and give them something else'' The room we had was fine but smaller than we have had previously and missing an alarm clock, which is somewhat essential if you need to wake up at a specific time (we did not). Also, we had a view of the fire exit, which had what appeared to be underwear on the step! But the good....the bed was very comfortable. The free mini-bar is a nice touch, if you like beer. The rooms are very quiet. The breakfast is phenomenal, the lobby is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. If we can get a good rate, we will definitely stay here again, as we love the convenience of this hotel and it has such a nice ambience. This time, we were able to take advantage of a points and cash offer, which was excellent.
