"Great location to explore Manhattan"
Just around the corner of Madison Square Garden, this Hotel is a perfect option to discover Manhattan. Value for Money (Manhattan Style) is given. Nice rooftop bar/restauran with great views of the Empire State Building, even in Winter.
friendly and helpful staff. I would suggest taking advantage of the the view from the roof top. The location of the Hotel is very close to restaurants and shopping places. I enjoyed my early morning walk exploring the city. I will visit again, thank you for making my visit a pleasant time.
As Hilton's go, this one is pretty average and surprisingly in major need of a facelift given how relatively young this hotel is. Where do I begin! The only saving grace of this room is the size. It's pretty big for NY standards but there is not much alternative seating besides just sitting on the bed. There are "chairs" but not anything I would sit in for longer than a minute. The bed itself was saggy and the hotel desperately needs to put in new mattresses. I could barely sleep on it. All the furniture looked tired and worn and the wear and tear is most notable in the bathroom. The wood part of the sink was warped and the neon overhead light looked like it was about to fall off. There is absolutely no counterspace to put your stuff. As other reviewers mentioned, water will leak out from the shower to the outer floor, the door is no use in keeping the water inside. Only plus here is the shower pressure, provided you are able to get hot water. Forget the service. First morning, no hot water out of the shower. I called the front desk and they said the entire building has an issue and it was being fixed. Nothing offered to compensate for the trouble like a free breakfast. Second night, fire alarm goes off at 3am. After complaining to the front desk about this plus the hot water issue, someone finally offered to provide me some extra Hilton points. Do not expect this hotel to go out of their way to help you. I only stayed here because I was there with work colleagues who were also staying at this hotel. I would only stay here if the location works out for your needs. Otherwise look elsewhere.
This Hilton location is ideal if you need to be in Chelsea or NoMad neighborhoods. You also can walk easily from Penn Station. In addition, the hotel is close to a number of really good restaurants--all walking distance (e.g., A Voce or Eataly). And you are 2 short blocks from the 28th Street subway entrance.
I booked this hotel as part of a package with BA (not super expensive but certainly not cheap!!) Having previously stayed uptown we wanted to stay in a new area when visiting with our two children (aged 12 and 9.) I had been attracted to the roof top bar and then I realised under 21s are not even allowed in a bar so I emailed the hotel to see if we could get a room overlooking the ESB as the kids would not be able to see the view - unfortunately didn't not get a reply from the hotel. When we arrived hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were told all family rooms were at the back of the hotel. As we opened our door we were met with perhaps the most underwhelming view ever - a brick wall!! As a result the room was so dark and we had to have all the lights on at all times. The pictures of trip advisor are not a true reflection of the room we stayed in. On the plus side the room was clean and functional and the beds were comfy. The bathroom was nice and the shower was lovely. The room was also quiet - brick walls don't make much noise at night!! The hotel is nicely located and we enjoyed spending time around the Flatiron building. It's also well placed for a walk uptown or downtown. The three star review is not really a criticism rather an indication of how underwhelming the hotel was for us as a party. If you are travelling without minors and pay for a room at the front overlooking the ESB and are able to use the roof top bar it may be a very different experience.
