I loved this hotel. It was just a short walk to Downtown Disney and the bus system was great for traveling to the parks. There was even a large Mears bus that picked us up during the busy time. That was great foresight on the hotel's planning. The price was a great value and the staff was very hospitable. I plan on staying here again in the near future! Thank you! Oh, and the terrace with a view of the Disney fireworks was a great unexpected surprise! Thank you!Comment of L. Randall , United States the 2014-10-11
Perfect place to stay if visiting Downtown Disney. Walk across the street and you are there! Free transportation to all Disney Parks. If you fly in or drive in for the Disney Vacation, no car is needed. I will stay here again!Comment of O. Paula , United States the 2014-10-03
"Close to Disney and convenient"
My friends and I stayed at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace and were for the most part pleased. They provide a shuttle service to the parks which saves a TON of parking $$$$. One caveat....they are not always on time and some of the meeting places at the parks are not covered so if it is hot or raining.....well, you get the picture! However, the fact that you don't have to pay for the parking truly outweighs this inconvenience. This hotel is WALKING distance to Disney Springs which is a HUGE plus! Family friendly. I would recommend this hotel.
"Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, an official Walt Disney World® Hotel"
This is an excellent hotel to select when visiting the Disney World parks. It qualifies as an official Walt Disney World® Hotel, although I am not exactly sure what that means. The hotel provides regular shuttle service to the Disney transportation center (for traveling to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot) and to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and the water parks. Every shuttle bus has a handicap lift. The hotel not only has a pool but also has a float lagoon (lazy river). The buffet breakfast was very good. The room is large and noisy. There are two omelette stations, and pastry options include chocolate, plain and lemon custard croissants. The Sunday morning breakfasts feature visits by Disney characters. By some lucky chance, we were given an upgrade to the presidential suite. Our five rooms and four balconies were amazing. Yes, this did influence my rating of the hotel.
"Great Pool, Great Location, Huge Resort"
The resort is extremely large and in a great location. The property was purchased by Hilton in the last 18 months or so (of the time of this visit), and appears to be in need of overall renovations. On the positive side -- (1) the pool area was recently renovated and was amazing! We enjoyed the heated lazy river one night, then wine by the fire pit in the bar area the following night. (2) The overall location is wonderful - across the street from Disney Springs, making it extremely easy to walk over to enjoy shopping or restaurants. (3) The large rooftop balcony of our room was spectacular and we could watch fireworks from the different parks from the rooftop. On the not so positive side: (1) Self parking requires a LOOOOONNNNG walk to the resort (we were in the Island towers), and the walk isn't exactly through pedestrian friendly driveways/roads internal to the property. (2) The room I was initially given was different than what I reserved (and had email confirmation on). Since we were traveling with 2 teenage children, I reserved a suite that had 2 queen beds plus a pull out sofa. An hour spent with reservations three days before our arrival finally resulted in a double/triple/absolutely positive assurance that we'd have the room I reserved. The wrong room was assigned to us when I was checking in - so after about 30 minutes of the front desk searching for an alternate room (i.e. Getting us the same # of separate beds I had originally reserved), they resolved the problem by upgrading us to an extremely large "penthouse" suite and an adjoining room. The penthouse was only on the 4th floor, but was on top of that particular building so could be classified as a penthouse. (3) The overall rooms are in dire need of updates, including the bathrooms. The tile in the bathrooms is very old, grout lines extremely dirty and moldy, and the shower in the master bathroom has a very significant leak (through the actual bottom of the shower) resulting in a HUGE puddle of water flowing into the bedroom (plus the door frame was rotted). I can only imagine what you'd find under the carpet after all that water. (4) The air conditioner was very loud and couldn't cool the room completely, thankfully the weather was still fairly temperate. (5) We were comp'd the adjoining room (again, to give us a comparable # of beds to our original reservation. However, the comp'd room resulted in an additional daily resort fee (and all associated taxes) on my final bill. And I didn't even get the additional coupons that normally come with the resort fee :( Overall we would probably stay again if we were planning on using the pool and if we were a able to book at a reasonable rate. But I'd bring a bottle of Tilex to spray the shower, and ensure the room I reserved matched the room I actually got.
"Great newly renovated property."
Stayed here for 2 nights last week. The property is newly renovated and the main hotel is super modern and very slick. The valet was friendly and took time to explain their parking service and cost. Front desk seemed rushed even though there wasn't a lot of people waiting to check-in. Front desk did not confirm back to me at point of check-in the room type I had requested, the bed config, room location, floor, etc.. She asked for my name, credit card, ID and handed me back the folder with the key cards without saying/asking anything. I had questions about the Disney bus service and hotel property amenities and she simply pointed to the folder containing the key cards and said "Its all in there". So I get to the room and its the wrong room type/bed config. Then its a 30 min wait to get moved to a new room.. The bellman who helped get the new room was very helpful and courteous. I felt bad for him, it wasn't his fault. Pat at the Shades bar is a true asset to the organization. Knowledgeable, friendly, good service. We stayed in the suites across from the pool, not in the main hotel tower. I don't think this part of the property has been renovated. The rooms were HUGE with both a full bath and a half bath. I would recommend them if you have a family. The master BR is separate from the living area with doors for privacy. The outdoor pool area is fantastic. A mini paradise. The hotel is literally a 10 minute walk to downtown Disney.
"Solid Choice - Something For Everyone"
A well rounded hotel / resort fitted for families, couples, and business travelers. What I liked about this property was the new pool area and poolside bar. There are games like cornhole, large Jenga, and others on a grassy area next to the bar. Our favorite thing to do was grab a colada and sip it on the lazy river! There is also a spa, nice gym, and many restaurants in walking distance at Disney Springs. There were areas that could be improved vs other Hilton resorts near by, and they may be improved with the renovation (but we didn't see any signs it was still being updated). The bed we had was very limp and we didn't sleep great as a result. The water pressure in the shower was intense and could not be adjusted. Also, we got the vibe people didn't enjoy working there... not a lot of smiles or greetings when interacting with staff. Should you give it a try' Absolutely. Give the property time to adjust to the renovations and training. It really is a beautifully landscaped property.
