"Loved the Pool"
We were here over New Year's and this hotel was 100% occupied. Despite that, we still enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are lovely, offering nice views. A bit poorly designed in that if you're staying for more than 3 nights, you'll find you might be living out of a suitcase as there were no real drawers to put anything away. They have a lovely, circular sofa in the rooms. But every time it's moved it leaves horrible scuff marks on the floors. Breakfast was OK. If you have South Asian tastes, you might find it a bit lacking. They offered some Indian breads, but then there was nothing savory to dip them into. They had Naan and a dry potato dish. It needed a curry or something to complement the bread. The western breads were very good. But I thought the breakfast buffet could have been varied a bit more day-to-day. The staff are very nice. And there was one hostess who remembered us after one meeting. Hotel at full occupancy, but she knew where my family was sitting at breakfast. It's always nice to be recognized/remembered. We ate at their Asian restaurant once. That was enough. I thought it was Thai, but they had Japanese offerings as well. And according to one Japanese guest speaking to his friend in the elevator, the Japanese offerings were "zenzen oishikunai". (Not good at all.) That made me laugh out loud because we had literally just finished eating there. We had ordered off the Thai portion of the menu. The food arrived COLD. I hate that. You order food that should be hot, it sits waiting for pick-up in an over air-conditioned room, and then the order gets cold. As we had a fresh fish, it is hard to say, please send this back and reheat it. Even though I am criticizing them on the food, I would love to stay again because of the hotel's location and their pool. If you want to be in the heart of Pattaya, this is the place to be. Since you're on top of a shopping mall, there is no reason to limit yourself to the hotel restaurants, and we didn't. The pool really is glorious because you get a fantastic view while sitting in one of the cabanas/chairs. Also the design is quite unique. It was a bit chilly over the holidays as the wind was really blowing at times. And as the pool is mostly shaded during the day, the water was not warm. I would love to go back and actually swim in the pool next time. The front desk assures me that April-June is hotter. I am already planning another trip!
"Beautiful seafacing Pattaya beach location."
The hotel has one of the best location on the entire strip of hotels. The view of ocean and lit up night street was the best from 24th floor. The Rooms were spacious and the bathroom showers were super cool with marble all around the shower. The ocean being the theme of the hotel, loved seeing the big representation of pebbles and waves in the reception, corridors and entrance. very soothing décor. Rooftop restaurant is very nice place to enjoy the near beach location. Although the rooftop restaurant was very welcoming with lavish display of seafoods, desserts and mix buffets, the Chefs on the live counters were very partial to the local people than the tourists ( may be English language was the barrier for them). The restaurant was also not very accommodative for the in house guests as they started receiving more Christmas party bookings, which was very inconvenient for us as we had to look for other similar restaurants in other hotels. Concierge services at ground floor were very helping in guiding us to several attractions as well as Adventure sports activities, finding tickets for the shows. Loved Pattaya experience.
"Both Good and Bad"
I've stayed at this hotel twice in the past year, for business. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is clean. The rooftop restaurant is really good - the service, food and atmosphere are hard to beat in Pattaya. The lower restaurant that serves breakfast is also good. The guest rooms are spacious, with large bathrooms and a comfortable bed. The shower in my room had no hot water 2 out of the 3 days I stayed, so it was cold showers for me. The internet speed was inconsistent, sometimes OK and sometimes very slow. The maintenance and upkeep of the hotel could be improved - they were using duct tape to hold trim pieces on the walls in the hallway. You can hear the music and crowd noise from the streets below, no matter what floor you are on. One night, there was a party going on down the hall, until 2:30 AM. I called the desk, but it didn't help.
"Xmas eve rip-off"
Before we visited some friends who live locally had warned us of a drop in quality but we'd enjoyed the Xmas eve buffet at the Hilton so much 2 years previously we figured we'd go for it anyway, I mean, after such a great meal before how bad could it be' We had to pay in full upon entry 5,000thb each (approx £113) for the buffet and the inclusive drinks package - a considerable increase from the standard buffet pricing but you expect that at Xmas and besides, when we'd visited before the quality of the buffet was raised in line with the prices.... What a mistake. I've had a better quality buffet on cheap all-inclusive holidays. Whereas in the prior Xmas buffet the food cooked to order included foie gras and beef fillet the only food made to order this year was a choice of pasta and sauces. Seriously' Is this student night'' The drop in quality of the food was shocking. Poor cuts of meat badly disguised under heavy sauces that had congealed in the warming pans. The seafood selection was a fraction of what it was on the prior visit and every single food station was a shadow of its former self. All of this was nothing however compared to the 'drinks package' - I'm putting it in inverted commas as it barely deserves the title! Previously there'd been a good choice of premium spirits, 4 different red wines and 4 white wines to choose from as well as a pleasant sparkling wine and a choice of beers and soft drinks. This year the beers and soft-drinks were still available but the red wines had been reduced to a choice of either an Argentinian Merlot that could strip the enamel off your teeth or a South African Shiraz Pinotage blend of a quality I expect is normally only sold in large cardboard boxes. The premium spirits had been replaced with cheap unappealing alternatives and the sparkling wine this year was a sickeningly sweet Spumante on a par with the worst offerings in the local Family Mart, not exactly a store known for its wine offerings. I spoke to the restaurant manager and explained our disappointment in the quality of the food and pointed out that due to the frankly awful drinks offering I'd had 3 small bottles of beer for a cost of around £55. I suggested that he could return the money for the drinks package and I'd pay for the 3 beers and be on my way. Alas, the magical tills of the Hilton made this impossible. Apparently once the money goes into the tills it disappears into the ether and so they had no way of refunding me. Eventually the manager agreed to give me a couple of bottles of 'nice wine' to take home instead.....then promptly came back with 2 of the un drinkable bottles of Spumante I could have drunk there if I'd been able to remove my palate or could have spent 400thb to pick up in the Family Mart down the road! It was interesting to chat with him though, especially when he admitted the drinks package had been downgraded from what would be received on a normal buffet night despite the massive hike in price for Xmas eve. Apparently this was all done knowingly by the food and beverage director, presumably thinking ripping off tourists is fine, after all, they're not exactly going to be regular customers' Well, some of us are regular customers. Maybe not of that specific hotel but certainly of the Hilton brand. Now I'm back in the UK I'll be returning my Hilton loyalty card as I'll never darken the door of a Hilton establishment again. I've never in my life experienced such a blatant rip-off and all sanctioned by a director at the hotel. The Hilton Pattaya tries to position itself as the premier 5 star resort in the area but what they've actually achieved is even more impressive - in a town renowned for shady dealings and rip-offs, the Hilton has become the premier clip-joint in Pattaya.
"1 week in pattaya"
We stayed for 7 nights in a King Room Suite, with balcony spa. Beautiful room and comfy bed. Great hotel, perfect location. We had Level 33 Executive Lounge access and this was worth it! The staff were very hospitable and the food on Level 33 was excellent. The only issue was the wifi in the room, constantly cutting in and out. This was annoying, but we survived!
