"Genuinely Warm Staff. Gooooooooooood Breakfast!. 24Hours Gym! Woohoo!"
So if you have to be in PJ, chances are you will want to stay in Hilton PJ, like I do. Surroundings wise, there isn't much to do but all the basics are there - a Giant supermarket, a Watsons, a pharmacy, hairsalons, KFC, Subway, some restaurants and a newly opened Starbucks. An A&W is nearby(think Coney Dogs and rootbeer!) But once you are inside Hilton PJ, then its a whole new world. I love their breakfast - it is sooooooo goooooooood! Wide selection. From fruits, to cereals, to bread, to salads, to juices/milk/tea/coffee, to various preparation of eggs, to pancake and waffles, to muffins and cakes, to local food, to Chinese food, to Indian food, to Malay food, to sushi. The chicken curry (a different type is made everyday to reflect the different styles of the different states in Malaysia I was told) is to die for - eat it with rice or prata. And if you cannot find something, which is next to impossible, then just casually mention it to the chef and he will surprise you. Thats what they do best - surprise you! Rooms are comfortable and decent size with all the necessary amenities - fridge, tea/coffee maker, etc. The beds are so comfortable - its a drag just to wake up in the morning. But the thought of the breakfast selection does the trick for me! Did I mention the chocolate muffin '! The Gym - its a proper gym - open 24hours! (it houses a male and a female sauna located in the locker rooms). Many of the staff have worked there for years, if not decades. The Malay doorman is one of them. Its always a pleasure to see him with his constant smile and warm wishes for the day. The front desk staff when they see me from afar behind their counter will wave at me frantically with a cheek to cheek smile. You can see that they try their best to accomdate to their customers' requests(even how ridiculous it can be sometimes) when you do your check in. Many of the staff at the breakfast dining have worked there for years and years like Ismail, who I've started to call "i-smile" instead. Order once, "a cappucino with extra shot", and they remember that the next day and the day after. Its etched in their mind. Then there is a chef whom I call "Chef Engelbert" as he reminds me of Engelbert Humperdinck, the famous English singer, because of his low low sexy voice. Keep a ear out for him! If you have any food alergy or need a special food preparation he will do for you(or ask Chef Hardeep or Chef "Mr Thailand"). I've noticed that even the newer/younger staff look up to these "old timers" and have learnt the art of making the customer feel at home. They feel happy when we are happy. The service is not superficial or forced but from the heart and we, as customers, can feel and know the difference. Some, just some of the staff from the top of my head that have taken care of me and my sometimes crazy self are, Putri(she looks as fresh after 10 hours as when she just started work at 6am!), Emerald(this one is a gem), Uma, Vimala, Sukh Preet, Durga, Devi, Marrissa, Azlina, Andy, Linda, Chef Ridwan just to name a few. There is also a van shuttle service to the train stations and Malls, every hour. But the sun can be a killer many a times. There is a bar, supposedly famous but I have not patronised it. Yet. I have yet to even swim in their pool. Still so much to do and explore. The only thing I dislike about this hotel is after a 5 day stay here, when I go back home, I get "home sick", or rather "hotel sick" and miss all the heartwarming pampering that they shower on me :-(
"Great Spot for Business"
Very nice set up in the lobby, but it can get busy at times. Executive lounge is what you would expect for Asia. The main restaurant in the lobby with the buffet, Paya Serai, offers very solid options with an exceptional breakfast. Uncle Chilli's is a great spot to end the day with live music every night I was there. The location was good for my business, but the hotel is not in downtown KL. The LRT is convenient and Uber is minutes away. The gym is up to standards and I would definitely stay here the next time I am in KL.
"Very Good Breakfast and Service !"
I stayed 4 nights and from day 1 all the staff and especially Executive Chef, Mr. Ridzuan Malek were amazing! Thanks to him and his team that made my stay a very pleasant and memorable stay even though I was travelling on business.
"A hotel gem in Malaysia."
Great service, great food, and great value. While not downtown, it is conveniently located to the LRT as well as Uber and Grabcar. For business or holiday, it's a great "base of operations". It's a value-priced full-service Hilton property. The staff is amazing and attentive. If you're a Hilton Elite member, ask for Vimala, Umah, Putri, Emerald and Samsari - they will take good care of you.
"Very comfortable place to stay in"
I was there for 3 nights. Everything you see on the photos is true. Great room service, nice breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. TIP: On the website it says that if you want wifi connection in your room, you'll be charged around 35MYR per hour. If you ask concierge instead of reception for wifi password (to connect in your room), you'll get it for free for 7 days! Or maybe I was just lucky...'
