"Lower than average hilton."
Nice, clean but pretty old. Staffs are nice overall. But some staffs should get fired. Keep pretending busy, ignoring, arrogant in non-verbal way. Facilities are in well condition but rather old. I expect more for this price of room rate.
"Fabulous for families "
We recently stayed at the Hilton Phuket for 5 nights. We had a suite which was a master bedroom with ensuite and living area with an interconnecting room with two double beds and a bathroom for 2 adults and a 13 & 11 yr old. It was huge! We couldn't believe the space. It also had a great corner balcony with views of about 270 degrees of the beach and town. (The only one thing was the step down to the door and bathroom - we just put a white towel down to make it more obvious for us). The staff were friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. We were left little surprises each day and on the day we arrived they had organise a beautiful cake for our daughters birthday. The pools were great and kids loved the slide and the loop pool with the cave. The bus to get you from the front to reception was frequent. The hotel was clean. Breakfast buffet had something for everyone and friendly staff. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
"A sanctuary in Karon Bay area"
We had a chance to stay in Hilton Arcadia along Karon Bay in Phuket and it was a blast! The hotel is about 15 years old. While it's old the facilities work. And it occupies a large area, including pools, lagoons, spas, tennis courts, gyms, executive lounge, restaurants, pubs, gift shops and a gem store. From the airport, we rented a car and it took us about 1.5 hour to reach in the evening. On the way back we were more familiar with the roads, and it took us about an hour to reach the Phuket Airport. There's a hotel car park for the cars near the lobby entrance. After which there's a shuttle bus that will take you from the lobby entrance to the main lobby inside the hotel compound, which is 5 min away. The shuttle bus schedule is every 5 minute so it was not too much a hassle waiting for it. Once we have completed exploring the hotel, there's a side entrance that link to the main road that's opposite the beach area. There were pretty nice wave during our stay. However there's RIP current and jelly fish so it's not suitable for swimming. You can just stroll along the beach or go for paragliding which is very popular along the beach. There are some shops on the left and right side of the hotel side exit, including restaurants. From the main entrance there's a bike rental shop too. Note that the bike rental shops require a cash deposit for the bikes so need to have US$ on hand if you plan to rent a bike for a day or two. We find it easier to drive around with our rental cars and travel to many places in our 3 days in Phuket: Bid Buddha place, lookout points, Go Karts, Phuket Shooting Range, Sri Pawan, which is the most south-eastern part of phuket with breathtaking view. Hilton hotel is going through renovation, including the hotel lifts. So a bit of patience here is needed. Other than that the staff were friendly, accomodatining and all things work.
The small suite was very comfortable. The resort is very spread out. We were in the 12-storey part which is handy for everything. Not so sure accommodation on the resort fringes might be as suitable. Swimming pools were peaceful (there were five of them). Food served poolside was good. So was breakfast and evening meals. An easy walk to local shops and markets but taxi into town not expensive.
Stayed here recently for a conference, hotel is kind of dated. Rooms were a bit dark and dank, musty smelling. The hotel is massive with many wings, is a bit impersonal but the staff are great. Probably wouldn't stay there for a holiday.
