"Very disappointing stay"
I arrived late at night on my day of check in (11 PMish) and was greeted by a rude employee when trying to check in. I had been travelling for over 15 hours and was not in the mood to deal with an attitude. I'm not sure if the guy behind the desk had been having a bad evening or what was going on but I did not appreciate the attitude and it really set the tone for the rest of my stay. Below are some additional details... 1. My corporate rate includes a coupon for breakfast. The guy checking me in refused to give me one and wasn't nice about it and simply told me I just had to pay the $18 for it "like everybody else". Fortunately the next day I spoke to someone else who wasn't sure why I wasn't given a coupon and apologized and provided me one for my second day's breakfast. (More on breakfast later). 2. My room had a motion sensor that would turn on the lights and turn them off if I didn't move enough. I understand "why" they have this in rooms but they need to have a way to turn off the sensors. First it's annoying when you're working and focused and all of a sudden the lights turn off. Second it's annoying and startling when you have to get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and all of a sudden the lights come blaring on. I did mention this to a VERY helpful young man at the front desk and he said he would get someone to fix it so they didn't auto turn on/off but alas they still did however I really do appreciate this guy's efforts. He is also the guy who gave me the breakfast coupon I was supposed to have had. 3. My bed was comfortable and the pillows were some of the best hotel pillows I've had, that was a positive. 4. The room's AC didn't seem to work correctly. I tried to get the room cooled off but alas it never really seemed to get too cool. 5. The shower head had a single stream of water that hit you right in the face. I tried to rotate the shower head so it was pointing in another direction but was unable to rotate it. It was annoying. And also speaking of the shower, if you like taking cold shower's their showers are awesome (not sarcasm, I do like cold showers). However if you like taking hot showers, the water never really gets hot. It gets warm at best. 6. The hotel does not have a box fan for your room so you're stuck having to listen to the traffic noise or the noise of the other tenants in other rooms. I'm not sure why hotels don't stock a few box fans as I know several people who like the white noise to help them sleep and to drown out other hotel noises. 7. The hotel is in a fairly nice location and is a 1/4 mile walk away from several good restaurants. 8. Finally, the $18 breakfast was horrible, so bad that I walked away from it and decided to go eat somewhere else using my own money. First the signs were all wrong. One sign said 'gravy' and I open it to see pancakes, and there wasn't even gravy on the line. Second the food did not look appetizing, any of it. Thirdly they had eggs with ham and cheese with some kind of really weird looking sauce of it that really turned my stomach. It was very disappointing. All in all this stay wasn't horrible but it was disappointing and I probably will not be staying here again when I come back this way.
"Close to the zoo "
Large room, sitting space, walk-in shower.. makes for a relaxing night. If ever in San Diego again, will definitely stay here. Short drive to the zoo and easy to get to from the highway. Valet service was efficient and they have a restaurant off the lobby..a big plus when you check in late.
"Good night sleep "
Hilton San Diego Mission Valley is very great hotel, friendly staffs, clear room, comfortable bed, nice lounge at 14th floor. I had wonderful night sleep after long trip. Location less than 3 miles from international airport.
"Stay at hilton san diego mission valley"
It was good stay for 2 days. Except there is no tub just the shower.service are great and staff are very helpful. Pool is out of order but offer a marriot hotel with shuttle. Area is clean. Tv is small not a lot of channel to watch.
"Great stay at San Diego Hilton property!!!"
Pros: clean, well appointed room, friendly and professional staff, beautiful lobby, spacious and clean fitness center with free weights and machines, diamond lobby offers excellent full breakfast with plenty of options and a great view of the city, restaurant in the lobby has great food too and is reasonably priced, hotel location is close to downtown San Diego, the airport and the Sunset Cliffs--a must see attraction Cons: renovating pool so inoperable at the time of my visit
