If you plan on traveling with a child that needs a refrigerator, ensure they give you a working one! I had to toss all of my child's food and milk due to one that worked for one day. Rommel the FOM was very friendly and attempted to make the best of the situation. However, what a disappointment that it had to come to that.
"Hit and Miss Miss this hotel"
I stayed at the hotel as I had a meeting to attend. It wouldn't have been my first choices its not in a part of SF I would normally stay having said that its location is one of the better features of the hotel. It is on the edge of chinatown, and easy walk to Union Square, a longer but very pleasant walk down to fisherman's wharf etc and just around the corner from a selection of great Italian restaurants. This is my second review as I wanted to edit my original as things have changed considerably since I got home. Before I went to SF I knew I was arriving at 6am in the morning so I booked an extra night so I could guarantee access to my room. I even had emails from the hotel telling me they had noted my early morning arrival, I had made international phone calls to confirm this. When I arrived my reservation had been cancelled because though promised no note had been attached to my reservation and as I hadn't arrived the night before I was seen as a no-show. It took some time to sort this out but the lady that helped me was very pleasant. The reason for wanting to edit my first review became apparent on my return home. 1. I got an email from the meeting organisers telling me the hotel had got in touch with them and said I was a no-show so were going to charge me a nights accommodation. 2. This was followed shortly thereafter by another email from the meeting organisers telling me to disregard the first email as the hotel had got in touch again and it was no all sorted out (clearly this was after I arrived and discovered my reservation had been cancelled and got it reinstated). 3. I come home and find I have been billed on my credit card for the 4 nights I did stay followed by another charge for additional night because I didn't turn up' In total I have been charged for 5 nights when my stay was 3 and abit nights. The cock-up with the reservation was the hotels fault, I did stay so how do you charge for a no-show''' To add insult to injury repeated emails to the hotel have not been responded to and I can't get through to the person I originally dealt with - which would be at huge cost to me as its an international phonecall. Anyway before I came home and got annoyed and frustrated by extra charges I shouldn't have incurred the rest of my original review was as follows. The bathroom was tiny, whats with these baths that are neither use nor ornament that you have to climb into to shower' The shower had a fixed head which, set too low for me and water pressure was pretty mediocre at best. Internet - what internet' It was slow and I kept being kicked off, ended up just using the free wifi in the lobby. Noise!!!!! At check-outI was asked how my stay was and I commented on the noise and being woken up at night. The chap at the desk was surprised I had heard noise on the 27th floor so I explained about hearing everything in the rooms on either side of mine. to which he told me I should have rung security and they would have removed any guests making excessive noise. He clearly missed the point I was making, the guests weren't making excessive noise its just the walls were thin and I could hear the girls on one side getting ready to go our on Saturday night and the guests on the other side saying goodnight to everyone they had been out with on Friday night (woken at 1am by this) and then continue their conversation in the privacy of their room. Despite the above I would have considered this hotel again but after the extraordinary unnecessary excessive charges the answer is NO WAY!
"Won't be back"
I've stayed at this hotel many many times and while I've had mainly positive experiences, this was far from acceptable. The room was not clean. The sheets and shower did not appear cleaned prior to my arrival. There were hairs everywhere. I also was put in a room where the constant sounds of the elevator bank going up and down all night was disheartening. I won't be back. I will say the majority of the staff were very welcoming.
"Wonderful stay! "
Had to stay here for 4 nights unplanned, hence did not have a chance to look closely into the amenities/facilities. Upon my arrival, the belldesk was friendly and swift to assist with my enormous luggages. Check in was efficient and smooth and they were kind enough to upgrade me to a queen bed room instead of a prebooked Double. My room was a nice size, very comfy bed, appreciated the blackout curtain too and the air conditioning/heating for those freezing nights. Bathroom was large, impeccably clean, so was the bedroom daily cleaning. Location wise it is close to Chinatown and it was definitely a plus for me to easily find food on a Thanksgiving holiday when most restaurants were closed. Didn't get to try out the other facilities the hotel had to offer but I would definitely stay here again because of the room quality and cleanliness!
"Fabulous Proprty, great staff!"
At last I was at a HIlton on vacation not business. This is a wonderful property. From the moment you pull up, it's a class act. Valet and Bell service were great. While the room wasn't quite ready, the front desk associate told us to go to the exectuive lounge and she would call us in a few. She did. She was wonderful and professional. The executive level with balconies are amazing rooms and awesome views. Well appointed and updated. The head of housekeeping came by to apololize for the room not being ready. The meals in the exec lounge are truly that-meals-- and the associates working them are amazing. Ok we did get in trouble for playing Alexa too loud, too late--but they were polite about it and we immediately turned it off. LOL. Stay here if you can. It's not that pricey for San Francisco. Ok valet parking is pretty steep but comparable to other properties in the city.
