"Old style Hilton, look elsewhere"
Pros- good location, great views from higher floors, excellent breakfast buffet, nice Executive lounge, nice servers in breakfast room. Plenty of free computers in the lobby. Cons- Very small rooms, bathrooms so small that you can barely turn around, towels not clean on several occasions, public spaces could use some work. Beautiful views from high up but Windows so dirty that the view is clouded. There are better choices.
"Great location, rooms need some TLC"
The location is excellent, close to shopping, dining and tourism areas. The lobby of the hotel is quite nice and modern. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms really need some updating. They are spacious and comfortable, although in a very 1990's style. Housekeeping does a nice job. Only dissapointment was a lack of any special treatment or recognition as a Gold member. I was preassigned what is arguably the worst room on the floor, xx25. It is much smaller than a regular room and has one small window instead of an entire wall of three windows, so it is very dark. I asked to move and was able to move to a standard room. In general, it feels like the average guest, even if an elite member, is overlooked, as the hotel places a higher priority on tour groups, airline crews, and wedding groups. Breakfast is nice, and the buffet generous. The juicer is a nice and unique touch and allows you to make your own fruit and vegetable juice. The staff is friendly and helpful.
"Very generic/ nothing special; worst WiFi"
We stayed at the hotel because it was close to a wedding venue. There is nothing attractive about the area, though it's convenient to places such as SFMOMA and even Fisherman's Wharf is only a half hour walk. The rooms are generic. The beds are nice; the shower pressure weak; the worst WiFi reception I have experienced in a hotel in recent years. Even e mails wouldn't load! Maybe they want you to buy faster internet for $9.95 a day.
"Great location, great views!"
As other reviews indicate, rooms are a bit tired; but the location is great. The staff were really helpful, offering to move us when we acquired a noisy neighbour mid way through our five night trip. Facilities are excellent, all in all; great!
"Good choice of hotel"
My friend and I stayed at the Hilton for 4 nights and had zero problems with it. It is located in Chinatown and pretty easy walking to just about anywhere. We walked easily to the Wharf and were happy to note that the Double Decker hop on hop off bus picked up right in front of the hotel. Our room was always tidy and taken care of, the beds were nice, the view was beautiful (bit of a dirty window view but I get they don't have a lot of rain there!) and it was nicely quiet.
