"Reliable place to call home"
Every time I come to SA and Jo'burg, I stay at the Sandton Hilton. It is a very reliable hotel with excellent facilities, good fitness, swimming pool, restaurant, breakfast and bar. It is well situated in the upmarket Sandton area, easily reachable and centrally located. The service is excellent and all the staff are superfriendly and always wear a smile.
"Excellent hospitality! "
I stayed for three nights in a business trip and truly enjoyed myself. The staff are very helpful, friendly and cheery; and in all places. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and very comfortable beds. The breakfast has wide variety of selections; and really liked the fresh fruit or vegetable cocktails. The fitness centre is well equipped for a decent worked and it is easily accessible from the rooms. The shuttle to the Sandton mall is fairly regular for shopping or eating out at the mall or Nelson Mandela square. I have stayed in most five star hotels in Sandton, but I was really impressed by the hospitality of the Hilton. The staff are fantastic and they simply won my heart. It will now be my favorite in Sandton. I recommend it!
"Could Have Been Better Had it Not been for the Concierge"
Located in the most affluent tourist and financial hub of Johannesburg, this Hotel looks little outdated from outside but is actually quite beautiful and very comfortable for staying. Our Check-in took approximately 2 hours but the polite reception staff were not very good at handling the situation. So while they were trying their level best to evacuate our rooms that had guests who were supposed to leave soon, we discussed about the possibility of giving us a late check-out. Our flight was late at night (10.00pm), next day. Checking-out by 2.00pm would mean that our parents would have to face a lot of discomfort by spending time in the Hotel Lobby or at the airport. They agreed to let us use one room out of the three until the time our parents were comfortable leaving. Their sensitive and immediate response touched us. Rooms were pretty well-maintained and were quite decent. The breakfast spread was pretty grand. And in our honest opinion, everything on Menu tasted good. This hotel also provides a to and fro pick & drop facility to the nearby Nelson Mandela Square and back at regular intervals. Now the most terrible part of our stay was trying to communicate with the Concierge. The first time we went to inquire about nearby local shops or flea market selling local goods, before replying rudely, he scanned us for almost a minute (as if we looked liked Muggers) and then asked for our room-keys and the name under which we had booked our rooms (we looked at each other to reassure ourselves that we were dressed appropriately). Thereafter, quite rudely replied that there were no flea markets nearby but there are some roadside stalls, at a distance of approximately 5 minutes walk, selling local stuff. Before we could inquire any further he just left. So, we had no option but to go the reception desk to request for other details including a Local Map which they helped us with, happily. The next morning, we landed at the concierge (hoping that the Rude Man would be in a good mood to help) to inquire about a taxi that could take us to the very famous Neighborgoods Market. With the same I'm-Scanning-You look he replied arrange for yourself. All the cars provided by the hotel are occupied. Before we could reply that we were not looking for cars but taxis this strange man left the desk. In our lifetime of traveling experiences this was the most odd and discomforting experience ever.

The hotel is very nice...rooms were clean and beds were extra comfy. The breakfast and lunch spread is very good..and there is a nice sushi restaurant on the premises....The make a mean cocktail and not to pricey too. For the shopperholics there is a frr shuttle to Nelson Mandela Square where you can get most mainstream brands and nice restaurants..checkout the Hard rock cafe Being in Sandton the hotel is in a safe and secure environment...
