"Great Hilton hotel in Shanghai"
My stay was very pleasant with excellent service and always a great standard of Hilton brand. I would recommend this facility for any kind of business and a leisure stay. my earlier check-in was handled so smooth that I could not believe it. on the end my earlier check-out was processed even faster. Simply my complete stay in Hilton hotel in Shanghai was more than great.
"Best hotel I've stayed in around Hongqiao"
There are many decent hotels around this part of Shanghai if on a one night stay for business or pleasure. The Hilton had the best rates available by far for the date required, hence the decision to stay here. The ride from Hongqiao airport was quick and easy and for once with a taxi driver who didn't grumble about the shortish distance and wanted to practice his English. Checking in was easy and efficient with good English spoken by the staff. My room was spacious and well equipped with everything required including fast internet connections. I think I joined their Honors programme to ensure no charge for the internet otherwise I wouldn't have bothered not being a Hilton user enough to make it worthwhile. Bedding and bathroom all good, particularly the shower - no temperature fluctuation and a lot of power. We took both dinner and breakfast in the buffet restaurant, which were fine. Breakfast was particularly good. We intended to have a steak at the sports bar but a Hallowe'en party was on and it was a bit too noisy. The concierges are particularly helpful, booking transport, and as I was going over to Pudong airport in the afternoon had got everything set up for me after I returned to the hotel after our meetings. Perfectly located for us on this, and nothing negative of note to grumble about at all. Recommended.
"3 days short business stay"
Check-In very smooth and friendly staff. Room is very nice and large, got a deluxe room with company rate. Wifi in the room is hit and miss, keeps on disconnecting. Heard from my colleague that stayed 2 weeks before that the buffet dinner was going down hill so ordered in. Room service food was OK, nothing special but pricey, the Yeung Chow fried rice needs work for the price being charged, tried to ask for something else but the guy taking the call didnt even understand the room service menus but he did offer to transfer the call to the restaurant but I didnt want to bother so just went ahead and ordered what he could understand. On the last night got a call from the guest relations guy, he was very friendly and asked about my stay and gave me information about the express check out as i was leaving the hotel at 8.30 am the following day so used that as I knew there might be lots of people leaving in the mornings. Check out, there wasnt a line but since I had filled out the form already so just dropped it off in the box, got an email in the afternoon with my bill so that was very straight forward and painless. Will still stay here as its convenient for me as I love the large king size bed :)
"Continues to disappoint"
Here for another client event and the standards here continue.to be very poor. The buffet here is still dire. The meeting rooms.small.and poorly equipped. Either Hilton don't care anymore or they have given up trying. Sad.
We arrived at the hotel at 3:30 pm but our rooms were not ready. We were told to wait as they didn't know when the rooms will be ready. My friends hadn't booked the executive room with lounge access so I suggested that my friends and I could wait there and have a cup of tea. It took them a while to give them the lounge pass. Which should be a given fact when you have no idea when the rooms would be ready. At 5:30 pm we went down to check if we could finally get out rooms and they said that the rooms were not ready yet and had no idea when it would be ready. At this point, we told them , that we were not very happy and asked them to at least try to give us some incentives as we have been waiting for so long. After much discussion , they decided to give us a dinner voucher . We are 2 in our room , but they said that they could give one for each room. We didn't use ours. For an executive room , it was a very lousy service. I complained about it and got two apples and an orange brought to my room. Lounge/club staff did a good job.
