of TripAdvisor Travelers recommend this hotel
After our initial hiccup, our stay was great. This hotel is ideally located for all areas and amenities. The food was good and great breakfast food choice. I would stop here again and would recommend this to family and friends.
The hotel is located close to the metro and buses and it´s an easy walk to Gamla Stan or even the central station if you want to go by foot. Check in was ok, the person checking me in was in training and needed a bit of help but in the end it all worked out fine. All the perks coming with being a HHD was included, even a room upgrade to a nice room with a view of the water and the city. Breakfast was very, very good, a lot to choose from and everything was fresh and the staff was amazing. Went to the lounge one evening, a lot to choose from, hot and cold dishes, and something sweet for desert. When we left it was also a staff member who was new so she hade some problems with the bill etc, but after 10 minutes it was all sorted out and we were on our way. When we come back to Stockholm, are we going back to the Hilton' Maybe, we can´t say what but something during our stay was missing, maybe it was the fact that the staff at the reception seemed more interested in talking to each other than talking to guests and that left a bad first impression on us.
"Good location, okay hotel"
Pros: Very clean rooms, plush towels, great views (if you pay extra for a room with a view). Cons: Rooms very small, expensive considering that not only was my "room with a view" pretty small (with a tiny bathroom) but also the room was clearly worn out a bit. There were some markings on the walls, the furnishings looked like they could use a refresh. I had a reservation for two nights but left after one to go on to the next part of my trip to Berlin a little early. The hotel is very expensive for what you get but that is probably just how Stokholm is in general. The staff wasn't particularly friendly but not unfriendly either, very businesslike. I Wasn't greeted by the doorman on the way in when I first arrived, no offer to take luggage upstairs, and no turndown service at night. This is not a "bad hotel" and is basically a solid a four stars, but it isn't really what I would consider a luxury hotel and I think there is plenty of room to improve to be up to better standards.
"Easy access to Viking Line"
I booked the Hilton since it would be convenient to get to the Viking Line ship that I was taking to Helsinki. The pier was just a short taxi ride away which made my departure easy. The hotel was clean and comfortable but just wasn't my taste with the wood and marble look. The city was walkable from the hilton and there is a train near by. I thought the train may be loud but I had no problems with the sound. I was happy with my stay.
"Excellent Access to Metro, Excellent Service, Clean Rooms"
Excellent Access to Metro, Excellent Service, Clean Rooms. You are a short walk away from the Metro and one stop away from Stockholm Central, which means you can take the Arlanda Express (28$) and be at Stockholm Central in 20min, and be at the hotel in a short bit. I was impressed with the service at this hotel.........they helped me a bit after I was relieved of my wallet by a pick-pocket on the Metro. My room was is good shape, and I like the Bathroom setup....nice size shower/tub, old school style. Also, the room windows open for fresh air. I chose to eat elsewhere for breakfast so I cannot comment on that. My room came with an iron, ironing board, eletric tea pot, hair dryer, room safe, and LCD TV (HDMI input NOT Blocked!!!). The WIFI at this hotel is free and seemed very good. This hotel is a short walk away from Gamla Stan, or "Old Town"...which is a tourists hot spot. The hotel is also only a few minutes walk from the local ferries (you can buy an "Access" Metro Card for 3 days or a week I believe. The only minor complaint I have is that the room's mini fridge is really a small scale vending machine with next to no room for your own stuff.
