Great location, best value breakfast, just couldn't organise the sunshine...Comment of S. Michael , Australia the 2014-08-05
"Off the beaten path but worth it!"
As everyone has previously noted this hotel is not in the City Center. For us that was great, if you want to be in the center of everything and not have to take the subway or tram this might not be the hotel for you. Two things we loved about the location, it is right on the Danube, I don't think many other hotels can boast that. Also to get there from the subway stop you have to cut through a neighborhood which we liked and gives you a different perspective than if you stay in the city center. There is also a grocery store between the subway and the hotel if you need anything. I don't know how old the hotel is but it has a very modern, clean look and feel to it. The room was great. I had booked a King with a Danube with but was upgraded to a King suite with a Danube view. I wrote them an email that we would have family visiting while we were there and they were gracious enough to upgrade us. It was nice to have a couch to sit on and a table to gather around with a Nespresso machine. The room had robes, a safe, very comfortable bed and windows that actually open for a little fresh air. We stayed in room 330 if you can land that one. We also had access to the Executive Lounge on the top floor which was amazing. They serve breakfast, afternoon cakes and a happy hour which basically included a full dinner. For dinner they had a variety of cheeses and breads, mussel salads, oysters, pastas, caviar and curries. Drinks ranged from coffee and teas to soft drinks and during the happy hour, local Austrian wine, beer and a selection of alcohol as well. I want to give a shout out to Dorothee for making our stay a great one. All the staff was wonderful, hers is the only name I remembered. We were there off season and it was amazing. I can only imagine it would be more fun to stay there in the late spring and summer when you can sit outside and enjoy the Danube even more.
Location is good. Center is only 10 Euros away on Uber. Breakfast is fine but they forget to refill some foods for a long time. Ask for the river-view and if you don't get it - you can always go to the waterfront restaurant. Rooms are spacious. Internet is slow. Service is friendly. I would stay here again.
"Modern, comfortable and friendly"
Stayed for 5 nights for both business and sight-seeing with friends. Located right on the Danube at Handelskai. Rooms are larger than expected as part of the hotel was converted from the original warehouses on the site. Staff were all friendly, responsive and helpful. Restaurant overlooks the river and serves European/Viennese dishes, all well prepared and presented. The nearest U-Bahn station (Stadion) is about 5 minutes walk away and is signposted from the hotel. Excellent base for visiting the city.
Had a very nice stay in this hotel, the room was spacious (towards the waterfront) and very clean. My personal highlight was the breakfast buffet, which offered a wide variety of warm and cold options. The subway is a 5 min walk away, Uber from the airport was 30 Euros (fixed price). Would definitely stay here again!
This hotel is out of the city centre a way, but only a couple of minutes walk from the u-bahn station, so this wasn't an issue. We requested an upgrade to an executive room, which we received and were delighted with it; the room was enormous and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Due to our upgrade, we used the executive lounge for evening snacks and breakfast and were very pleased with the range and quality on offer. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others.
