"Great Location, Good Service"
We stayed over New Year Eve 30/12/16 for three nights The rooms were very comfortable clean and had all we needed for our stay It was very cold outside but snug in the rooms without being too hot The location of the hotel is great and you can walk to all the major attractions in the city The hop on hop off open top bus stop just around the corner from the hotel All the staff were helpful when ever we needed them Never ate there so cannot comment on the restaurants Also got great deal to stay over the holiday period Would recommend visiting Vienna over NYE a great event with loads to do all free to see and see plus plenty to eat and drink
The Hotel is New, well maintained and clean. The decor is up too date and beautiful, and the rooms are big and with good linen. But don't expect a five star, it is a hilton, and the staff is not well trained.
"Good location "
Very nice location in the city center. Shared a twin bedroom with a friend and the room standard was very good even if the bed was a little stiff. The check in took longer than normal and the breakfast was very overpriced.
"Fabulous! Just as a Hilton should!"
We had planned to celebrate Christmas 2016 in Vienna and decided to indulge in a good hotel to enjoy our festive holiday more, and the Hilton Vienna Plaza certainly didn't disappoint. Having stayed at various Hiltons in Europe and Asia before, I have often found many Hilton hotels to be pretty dated and old given that the brand has been around for quite awhile. So it was a very pleasant surprise to find the Hilton Vienna Plaza to be relatively new and updated. I do like the fact that the original art nouveau design was retained, giving it character that resonates with the old city of Vienna, but has been updated with a modern touch to reflect the times and for the better enjoyment of its guests. However, what makes any hotel stay memorable / enjoyable is more than just hardware. Service is key, and the staff at Hilton Vienna Plaza have certainly lived up to the standard expected with the Hilton brand. Besides being very friendly with a smile on their face always, they also go out of their way to accede to guests' requests and make them feel as welcomed as possible. Even though we arrived a few hours early, the staff still managed to get us a room to check in to. Then when I made the late request for a room with a good view, the staff actually made the effort to find us one as requested even though our room has already been assigned and the key issued. And always with a smile! How's that for great service! Room wise, very spacious and as mentioned above, looking new from recent renovations, with sufficient room for multiple big luggages. Comes with the standard amenities expected of a Hilton as well as daily provision of bottled water, something that I always complain to be lacking in Europe. I enjoy that the hotel has two good size saunas, especially since it was winter when I visited, allowing me to drive out the cold. The spread at breakfast was pretty good by European standards, though still a far cry from their Asian counterparts. More could also be done to handle capacity. We've seen many guests being directed to another place on the 2nd floor when there were actually tables available at the main restaurant on the ground floor. Guests couldn't dine here not because the restaurant was full, but because the tables were not cleared, just as the plates on our own table weren't cleared as we dined. The restaurant seemed under staffed, and that's quite unexpected of a Hilton. We could have been one of the unlucky ones that got turned away. So.... much to improve here, but not that bad a situation for me to penalize the hotel with my rating. Lastly, as always with my decision in the choosing of a hotel, is its location. It should be as close to the attractions as possible, but more importantly, must always be close to either a subway or tram stop, and that is precisely the case with the Hilton Vienna Plaza. There is a tram stop Borse that is just diagonally across from the hotel, and the U-Bahn subway stop Schottentor is less than 5 mins walk away, making the Hilton very accessible. All in all, we've totally enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Vienna Plaza, and would most certainly stay here again if we should ever visit Vienna again in the future.
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. We received a warm welcome when we checked in early and our rooms were ready. Gabor at the check in desk was very helpful. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and clean. The location was central and it was easy to walk to where ever we wanted to go. We had access to the executive lounge which was well stocked with snacks and drinks. Breakfast here was good. The staff in the lounge were very friendly and we felt very well looked after. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
