Reception staff were abrupt/rude at check in. Noticeable annoyance that 31 euro per person breakfast deal was not accepted. Again, notable annoyance that 70 euro per night acceptance for mini bar was declined (to find that mini bar was thereafter electronically locked) No free wifi, which in a 5 star hotel and room rate that is charged I feel this should be inclusive (10 euro) Room size was good, large comfortable beds, clean. Location is good, within walking distance of all sites Vienna is a lovely city
"Number 1 in Vienna"
A first class hotel with high level of service, realy helpful staff, excellent breakfast, restaurant and bar. The staff are lovely and friendly and you are made to feel very welcome. Special thanks to Stephanie and Gabon at front desk. Both very helpful and cannot do enough for you! Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast was excellent. On the second day of our stay when I got back in my room I found a wonderful surprise, a birthday cake lovely decorated..such a kind gesture!! We had also an amazing dinner at the hotel's restaurant. I had veal schnitzel with potato salad.. beautifuly cooked, tender and extremely tasty. The location of the hotel is also ideal, few minutes walk from the center of Vienna, which was increadibly decorated for Christmas and New years eve. We loved everything about this hotel and I cannot recommend it high enough! This hotel should be number 1 in Vienna by all means! Thank you for taking care of us so well!
It is my first time when I write about a bad experience in a Hotel. Normally, I write reviews only when I am really impressed and I do feel something special in regards to the place I am. Otherwise, as I do travel a lot, writing reviews is not my sports! But coming back to this short city break, that we decided to take with the kids to enjoy the Christmas Market, has been from accommodation perspective disappointing. We booked by our travel agent our stay at Hilton Plaza Vienna two connecting rooms at the executive floor, when we are Hilton members, but when we arrived they were not able to give us the rooms we booked! After 3 hours of waiting in the lobby with the kids and the luggages, tired and frustrated they offered us the rooms at different level, non executive, and did not refund the extra amount we payed for extra services at executive floor. Meanwhile in the restaurant the service was also lousy ... they brought all the food same time, appetizer, soup and main course so the tiny tables were fulfilled and not enough space nor to eat, or even place a glass of water. Also at 21:00 hours when we wanted to have dinner, we were told the kitchen is overbooked so we can't order, although the restaurant was half empty. We had to wait 50 minutes so we could order something to eat ... Brief, I am very dissapointed! Hilton which is a worldwide brand should not accept that kind of services. I am sorry for this, but I felt like reviewing this time!
My wife and I decided to spend 4 days in Vienna to show our kids the city and also the Christmas Market. We decided to book 2 rooms at Hilton Plaza, first because we are Hilton clients and because we know the one in Vienna is a good hotel. When we book the room we asked for communicating rooms because we have 2 small kids. One is 6 years and the other one is 9. We booked and paid in advance for 2 communicating rooms at the Executive floor because they said it is the only way to be sure that we'll have communicating rooms. We also received a confirmation for this. When we arrived they put us to wait for 3 hours for the reason that we have communicating rooms and those rooms aren't ready yet. After we wait they give us separate rooms and they told us that is the best they can do amd they admitted that is dangerous for to kids to sleep like this but we have to take the chance. After a long debate the downgrade us to a regular floor without giving us the extra money back. Shame on Hilton name and a very bad experience! Remus Zamfirescu
A beautiful hotel in a great location, situated within easy walking distance to the centre of the city and excellent public transport links (tram stop across the road and underground station at the corner of the street). Every member of staff we met during our 3 night stay was helpful & professional, and a particular mention to Adrienne in the Executive Lounge for her excellent customer service looking after us at breakfast. The Executive Lounge is one of the best I have visited, with a great choice of food & drink and relaxing atmosphere. Bedrooms are of a good size with everything you need. The only criticism was the temperature of the room - perfect after a chilly evening at the Christmas Markets, but rather warm in the middle of the night. Overall a superb stay, making our first visit to Vienna one to remember.
