I ended up staying only one night due my trip inadvertently cut short. But it was a satisfying experience. The room was nice - maybe a bit cramped - but perfectly fine for a single business traveler. There was even a smartphone that I could take out and use around the city - really nice touch. It's right in the middle of TST. All your shopping and dining are right next door. The MTR is also accessible from the iSquare building right across the street.
"Great hotel but awful bedding"
This has been our hotel of choice whenever we visit Hong Kong. Although they are currently doing renovations, we had no problems with noise or anything else. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We had the Club room which has been renovated. The room, while a lot smaller than previously, was quite okay apart from the bed. It was like sleeping on concrete! Even my husband who likes a firm bed had difficulty in sleeping. I had huge problems sleeping, to the extent I slept on the couch one night because it was softer. Apart from the that, the hotel was perfect. The new executive lounge is much bigger and nicer than before. Apart from being unable to have a decent sleep, the hotel was perfect and the staff were wonderful. Because of the bedding issue, we won't stay again. The most important thing for a traveller is a good night's sleep which unfortunately we didn't get. However, if you like a hard bed, then this place is perfect
"Okay hotel with interesting characters"
Stayed here a week ago with my sister. As this was my first time in Hong Kong, my first impression of the area was that the hotel was set in a semi-dodgy area with lots of interesting characters on the streets, part red light district-ish, part commerce. Pretty great if you're into the neo-noir atmosphere. The hotel itself was not that remarkable since it was still under renovation and our room was so close to the opposite building that I could see into some of their living rooms. But hey, Hong Kong is known for its cramped and narrow spaces. I felt that the room could be cleaner as it was musty, stuffy and bathroom wasn't that clean. Since my sister is an IHG member, we were given two coupons for our welcome drink, a nice gesture except the bar was full of ladies of the night and their blatant attempt to attract Johns were quite fascinating. It was a bit surprising that the hotel allowed these beautiful yet working ladies into their bar but hey, maybe it's not that taboo in HK' I know that if this were to happen in Bangkok in a hotel of this caliber, the Thais wouldn't stand for this type of solicitation. That aside, I liked that the hotel gave us a handy smartphone to use around the island as that meant that I could use the smartphone's WiFi instead of buying my own SIM Card, and the hotel's close proximity to the subway means that travelers can lug around their suitcases for just a short distance to the hotel.
"Surprised at the quality!"
First off, I believe my experience was based on my ihg elite status and you may have different room and experience if you do not have this. For those that do have status, the hotel rooms on the top 3 floors are renovated with access to very large executive lounge in the basement. My room was comparable to more luxurious hotels in HK with a great bathroom, king bed, robes, umbrella, travel adapter, free local smartphone, water bottles, slippers, daily snack from room service. The bed is rather stiff though, but I slept fine. Bathroom is quite nice with great shower that has glass view of room, which can be blocked with an electric shade. Executive lounge access will get your free daily buffet breakfast with omelette station, light Snacks and coffee all day, tea time with light lunch type items, cocktail hour with dinner. The lounge is quite large and comfortable and food was decent enough. I was also given a late check kout for my late flight, which was very generous.
"Return after 7 years"
The hotel based in the heart of Kowloon’s lively Tsim Sha Tsul district, was in the stags of refurbishment when I arrived there, some of the rooms have already been refurbished but some are still to be done, plus the reception was having a complete make over, but having said that even the rooms that were awaiting refurbishment where still clean and well kept. If you are IHG Rewards club member you can check in in the 24hr business centre in a pleasant and welcoming environment. On the roof of the hotel there is an open-air swimming pool and bar as well as several very comfortable sun beds and a seated area. The Bistro breakfast has a wonderful range from European to Asian in a bright well laid out restaurant plus the hotel has two further restaurants. In the evening before dinner you could have a drink in Har’s Bar.
