"Great Holiday Inn Experience"
One of the top Holiday Inn hotels I have stayed at. Check in was friendly and efficient, great views from my renovated room on level 8. Hotel is in good location above small shopping mall which has supermarkets and train station for trains to city centre and airport. Lobby Bar is very good and actually makes you want to drink/eat there as opposed to many sad miserable lobby bars at other hotel. The Bavarian beer on top is very yummy! Special thanks to Lisa, Laura and Nikka for their great customer service - highly recommended.
"Nice hotel, good service"
A very nice hotel, open and inviting lobby area with friendly staff. The room was nice and clean. Wi-Fi is free and has stable connectivity. Sleep quality was excellent, I really enjoy the beds at these hotels, really comfortable with pillows of different firmness you can choose between. Unfortunately, this was a short stay so I didn't manage to try out much but I will definitely come back one day.
"A wonderful place to stay in Munich"
We spent five nights here, planning on visiting Munich and making a few day trips by train. This is one of the nicest Holiday Inns I have ever stayed in. Spacious and open lobby, very helpful staff. Restaurant has a small menu, but food is good. Takes less than 15 minutes to walk to Marienplatz. Rooms are as expected for a Holiday Inn, and these were well-maintained and clean. No problems with wifi. There is a refrigerator, stocked with things you can buy and space (not a lot) for things you want to buy. We managed to be able to get all our things that needed refrigeration into that space. Coffee set-up is nice, but they have ceramic mugs (and glass glasses in the bathroom) that are not replaced every day if you use them. I assume that they wash them out in the sink and put them back, so I do recommend that you clean them and rinse them in hot water yourself before you use them. There is a pool, which we didn't use, but if you stay here you may want to pack a swimsuit. Lobby has two game stations that were used by kids. When we arrived, I was informed that we had received an upgrade because of my membership status. I assume that the upgrade was to a higher floor, as we had a room on the 7th floor that had a nice view of the city center. What made this hotel one that I would highly recommend and return to was not only its location, but that it was connected to a small mall with a grocery store and a handful of small eating establishments. We made daily runs to the grocery store for breakfast items and things to take with us as we hiked about on our daily explorations. In addition to the mall, there is direct access to the S-Bahn, which can take you to the city center if you prefer to not do as much walking, or to both train stations and the airport. The convenience of all these things next to the hotel made our lives so much easier as we did our tourist things. Price was right - after conversion from euro to dollar, we stayed for slightly less than $100 a night. I had previously stayed in another, more expensive hotel in Munich closer to the Karlsplatz and spent more money to get less than what I had at the Holiday Inn. It was cold when we stayed here, but we preferred to walk more than take the S-Bahn because it is so wonderfully strolling along and seeing things.
"Customer satisfaction does not make a difference for this hotel"
We did a reservation as two families for new year vacation that between the days 29 December to 2nd of January. Because of a sudden death of our uncle we needed to cancel our trip to munich and made the cancelation for our reservation. As we couldn't follow the process of that cancelation on time meanwhile the funeral process I wanted to get in contact with the hotel to inform the reason of cancelation and request a reasonable pay back explaining the process, I was disapointed about the approach of their administration and hospitality that with a strict response saying "they don't allow any reason and apply the rules which is no refund on cancelation". We had the same conversation with Lufthansa and they offered open tickets, which the hotel could do the same approach giving a free 2 days stay.
"Christmas/ New year stat"
We stayed in an executive suite and it was absolutely perfect! I requested a room with a city view and that is exactly what I received. The view from the top floor was breath taking. The hotel is directly on top of a train station wish is extremely convenient. We asked the front desk which train to take and they gave us a map of the train layout and showed us exactly where we needed to go. You could also walk to the city center with no problem, it's actually quite a nice walk. However, it was freezing in December so we choose the train instead. There are excellent breakfast options near by if you don't want to eat at the hotel. The wifi for the hotel was exceptionally good considering it was free. On New Years We choose to stay in and watch the fireworks from the room and it was spectacular, you could see fireworks going off around the entire city. The only downfall to the hotel is parking, we paid $20 a day to park under the hotel. Other than parking I would highly recommend this hotel.
