"The most friendly hotel.."
I have stayed in the Holiday Inn at Santiago maybe... 50 times! The friendly treatment I get from the staff is a give, so today I want to praise them, because I will not have this things for granted. They are so important that I want to write about them. I will give no names, but the night manager is superb. She came over today, called me by my name and wondered how come I had not been coming for a while! The bartender, when he had 1 minute in a busy night, came over to say hi. I hope the Hotel management understands the quality of people they have... or I will be stealing these guys for my own Hotel. Congrats and heartfelt thanks to you all.
We booked the hotel as we had an early flight out the next day. The hotel is right at the airport terminal. We enjoyed a very nice dinner and had drinks at the bar. The staff was very friendly and spoke English as well. Also reception staff super and fast to check-in and -out. WIFI worked well! The only disappointment was the pool area: not enough sunbeds, located in an underground floor with no view, changing room cold and slippery.
"Makes super cents!!!"
Transfer through Santiago for 14 hours from Puntas Arenas' Holiday Inn at the Airport eliminates 50 USD, at minimum, in taxi fees with no morning rush to pack or dealing with traffic. Warning ... access is across from International entrance. Elizabeth welcomes us, offering water bottles at that late moment. A relaxing repasse in hotel luxury compared to our previous downtown experiences.
We stayed here because we had a short overnight layover and wanted to be close to the airport for our early morning flight. The hotel is walk-able to the airport (across the entrance), which was very convenient. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but no frills (which is fine for the short stay). As we had a late arrival in to Santiago, we just wanted a quick dinner and decided to eat at the hotel bar. Our bartender, Cesar, was wonderful and recommended a delicious bottle of wine.
"In the bar......"
The bar was very bright and pleasant, clean and modern with a 2 big screens where they had a Stevie Wonder concert playing. The menu was quite adequate and drink selections were good. Francisco was very attentive, helpful and spoke very good English. The service was excellent!!
