"Beautiful restaurant "
Having this long layover at Santiago airport for flight to Lima...the hotel is right across the terminal. An easy walk over. The staff members were very nice and courteous. I left my luggage with them and was greeted by the manger who walked with me to the restaurant. I ordered conger eel, a local specialty that I have been wanting to try. The food is lovely and the service is superb.
We only stayed at this hotel because we had a 6:30 am domestic flight and we didn't want to spend around 30 minutes going to the cheaper City Express Aeropuerto nearby with their free shuttle service or 30-50 minutes going to a hotel downtown. It was such a luxury getting up at 4 am to check in to no lines at the airport. Then I was able to come back to rest a little at the hotel before grabbing breakfast (included in our rate). Thanks to the express checkout I had done the night before, I just had to drop off my keys in the box next to the reception and walk out to the airport in time for boarding. The hotel itself was modern with a nice, large bar area. When we checked in to this hotel, the receptionists could actually speak English (something we didn't see that often in Chile as we were traveling independently). We were able to use the heated pool until it closed at 9 pm. The pool area also had a jacuzzi. The sauna was broken when we were there. Our room was spotless and had A/C, a tv, coffeemaker and a view over the airport parking lot. The staff quickly provided us with toothbrushes, toothpaste and razors upon request. We ordered in some fish risotto and ravioli with bolognese sauce (unfortunately, the fish seemed frozen and my son didn't like his ravioli)- for over $10 per plate of food, we expected more in terms of quantity and quality. Breakfast the next day wasn't great either but it tried to cater to everybody- rice and some sad looking vegetables, ham and cheese selection, some bread, 2 different kinds of cereal. Large variety of juices and milk though. We sat at a booth in the breakfast room where we could watch CNN while we ate. If you have an early morning flight and are willing to pay more than the standard rate for a hotel in the Santiago area, I would stay here over other hotels.
"Great place to stay near the airport"
I stayed here for one night enroute from London to South Georgia and the Falklands. The hotel is next to the airport and you can check in as soon as you arrive which was great for me as I had had an overnight flight and was tired. The facilities are typical Holiday Inn and of an excellent standard. Meals were good and I was able to have an early breakfast which suited my flight the next morning.
"Great Hotel right at the Santiago Airport"
I stayed this trip, at the Holiday Inn Santiago Airport Hotel, on my way to Ecuador and then to the Galapagos Islands. This Hotel has to be the most convenient Hotel I've ever stayed at, right across the road from the Departure / Arrivals of the amazing Santiago Airport! Besides being so close - a 5 minute walk - this Hotel is almost new, everything was the best, my room looked out to the Airport, it seems this extremely busy Airport is busy 24/7. On my way home from Brazil, guess where I stayed' Yes, the Holiday Inn Santiago Airport! Great friendly staff too.
We had one day stay in this hotel before heading to Bolivia in January. The room was at the basement level. No view whatsoever. Two of the bath towels were on the floor and the only glass in the bathroom was full of tooth paste. The security lock fell off while we got out of the room. Hopefully, the hotel can do something with their housekeeping. We had lunch at the hotel restaurant, food so so but service pretty nice.
