"A lovely Disney experience!"
It's a tradition to stay overnight in the Disneyland Hotel with our extended family. I forgot to request 2 connecting rooms close together, and was worried we'd end up spread out. But they accommodated us easily! We were right across the hall from each other. The rooms are large and very comfortable. We had dinner in the Chinese restaurant in the hotel, and the food was terrific! The character breakfast was a surprise because I have memories of it being rather poor, with stale bread and strange things you wouldn't want to eat. But it was truly excellent this time. They've really improved!! There was an amazing variety and everything was fresh and delicious! One of the best buffets I've had. The characters were terrific, too! They made sure to give us plenty of attention and had lots of great moves! Goofy was hilarious! I would like to say that we had the WORST Disney experience at EuroDisney a couple of years ago. We paid to have a character lunch for my daughter's birthday and almost as soon as we got there, Mickey LEFT! The only ones we met were Chip N Dale (!') and Pluto. So we knew it couldn't be worse at Hong Kong Disney. You can expect that in Hong Kong you're going to have far better service and attitude, and this was certainly true this time. From check in to check out, we had a really great experience. Just one suggestion: Could there be more options on the room service menu' We just wanted a snack, and all there was were full meals. Although, to be sure, the meal that we ordered was really small. Also, I asked for a pot of coffee and what came was the smallest pot ever. I guess they're trying to save money on room service items. But they didn't even include water, which you do get at other hotels.
"Definitely Not a 5 Star Hotel!"
Just returned from a stay at Disneyland Hotel and it was way below expectation. Was anticipating a good holiday at the Hotel but unfortunately, it turned out otherwise. It was definitely not a 5 star hotel experience and more like like staying in a poorly run 3/4 star establishment. 1. Cleanliness The room was not thoroughly cleaned and there was a stench in the bathroom. There were stains on the marble floors and the bath tub. The carpet was not exactly clean as well. 2. Service Unfriendly and non-smiling staff, and it was hard to imagine that this would happen in a Disney hotel, which pride itself of excellent service. The service provided at the Bell and Porter counters were unfortunately at times fell short of a 5 star hotel standard. The gentleman who was providing guidance at the reception counter was also unfriendly and curt towards those queuing in line to check in. The saving grace was some of the younger staff at the reception who exhibited professional service and attention to the guests. Another person that deserved mentioning was Ray, who seemed like the only professional employee working at the Porter counter. 3. Furniture and fittings Getting old and dirty and the Hotel could consider refurbishing the rooms again. 4. Facilities in the Hotel A number of facilities such as the washrooms were under maintenance during our visit. These unfortunate scenarios cast a doubt over the reputation of what should have been a fine 5 star hotel, specifically a renowned establishment under the Disney brand name. For the premium price paid, I could only say that we receive a 3/4 star experience.
Had a great time Only spent one night but thoroughly enjoyed it .We got room service at 9.00 after an amazing time at Disneyland.Grand daughter felt like a princess Our room was decorated The Bippity Boppity Boutique was great as well We will be back
We booked an all inclusive package, it included 2day Disney passes, a photo pass per person, breakfast buffet, reserved space to view the parade and fireworks, park meal coupons & drinks, airport transfer and late checkout. My advice is don't bother with the extras- the photo pass is only for Disneyland park and does not include photos taken at the character breakfast - that's another photo pass ($398HKD). We had no photos taken in the park, photographers weren't around unless you visit the Disney characters (wasted $), we didn't use our reserved parade space as there were plenty of better spots roadside. We couldn't use the airport transfer as the times were limited and would not have got us to our flight on time. Needless to say we didn't require a late checkout and the park food vouchers were inconvenient (if you wanted bottled soft drink, you couldn't get the ones with your meal, they had to be picked up from an outdoor vendor). One of our party was unwell and so a two day pass was unused, and when ringing ahead to see if we could check in early - English was limited and we were told check in was 3pm as stated on the booking. Lucky the hotel we were staying in HK city extended our stay so that those ill in our family could remain resting in bed. The room view was of an empty pool and the shower water was hot then cold. Overall, an ordinary place at an extraordinary price. Btw, it's still. Fair walk to Disney park even after the shuttle service. Positives- the Disney characters at breakfast were phenomenal, balloons in the room on arrival for a birthday was lovely. Hotel breakfast was extensive and yummy.
This was our last stop on our trip to Hong Kong and we booked 2 nights at the Hollywood Hotel. When we checked in, they told us they could upgrade us to the Disneyland Hotel for no charge. Yes Please! We ended up with a king bed in a corner room, crib for our son and a bit of a view of the ocean. We went to the character breakfast, and while $$$ we did get some quality time with Minnie, Mickey & Goofy which was great. The outside pool area was closed, but the inside pool was open. Also, pro-tip, you can walk to the park fast than the shuttle down the promenade, took us 8 minutes to walk door to gate. The shuttle, you have to wait for it to load, then unload/load at the hollywood hotel and then walk from the transport center to the park. We did it once and the walked and we were the only people on the path everytime... hilarious. Nice walk too. Biggest complaint is that there is no quick service food options, just pricey sit-down options, wouldn't be great if you were hear longer than 1-2 nights. Overall, if I could budget for it, I would certainly stay here again.
