"Elegant hotel in Seville"
Elegant hotel in an old house, with a few lovely patios and a gorgeous lounge. The lounge was perfect for me in the rainy weather when I wasn't exploring the city, with several differently decorated rooms of old and comfy leather sofas, soft lighting, and music. Room was average. The biggest problem with this hotel is noise - rooms are unbelievably not sound proof. You hear people walking in the building, flush the toilet, shower, talk in the next room. I didn't sleep well in this hotel.
"BEAUTIFUL TASTEFUL HOTEL"
Stayed at the Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza in Seville in November 2016 for three nights. When my friend and I arrived we were greeted by friendly and very considerable staff. Our bags were taken to our room whilst we were offered a welcome drink in the courtyard. The entire hotel was very tasteful an authentic with an artisan theme. Lit candles greeted us at the main door every evening and were also scattered around the courtyard creating a relaxed theme. Drinks in the library by an open fire prior to dining was a must. Food was excellent with a wide choice for breakfast. Places of interest were within walking distance and many tapas bars nearby. Thoroughly recommend.
"Lovely hotel with an old spanish feel"
Arrived in the dark and you go down really narrow streets then you are greeted with a lovely old yellow and white hotel in a lovely small courtyard. Few small Tapas bars within 5 mins walk but have to walk 10-15 for better restaurants Only 15 - 20 mins to the cathedral, palace and the river All the staff are friendly and helpful especially Juan. The hotel has a lovely old spanish Hacienda feel but with modern touches. Like perfect hot water anytime. Nice modern beds, Great WiFi and TV / audio We had a deluxe room which was large and a very good sized bathroom. Bed was amazingly comfortable Breakfast is very good quality, continental and hot a la carte Azahar Restaurant is well worth eating in, in the evening Lovely roof top terrace and pool Only cons are - Old school A/C - in November when it was 26 degs you can only have heating or nothing as it's their winter !! Only AC in summer months no separate Bar but can order drinks through reception as small hotel Overall- 9.5/10
"Good but not great."
The neighborhood around the Plaza Ponce Leon is interesting with lots of tapas bars and other restaurants of various ranges; it is a good 15 or 20 minute walk through Seville's winding streets to the Cathedral district and El Alcazar. The hotel is nice but not really a 4 star experience; rooms are small and bathrooms tiny (two people cannot be in the bathroom at the same time) but modern. Beds were comfortable but again not large and the wall-mounted television was the size of a laptop computer. Reception and public spaces are also small and simply decorated. Staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
"Good hotel with a very Spanish feel"
Feelings are a bit mixed. It is a fine old Spanish building with rooms built in a square around open courtyards. We were in a premium double room that was quite small with no outward looking window and it was a bit dark. The bed was comfortable but the bath and its shower were small and a bit pokey. It was clean. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the shared areas were nice but there is no real bar even though you can order a drink in the lounges. We had a complementary tapas lunch that was good and the breakfast was also very good.
