From the Airport, take the motorway to Palma. Before reaching Palma, after approximately 4 km, divert to Via Cintura (M20) heading Andratx. After a tunnel and before reaching Palma, follow the motorway towards Andratx. Take the second exit Bendinat-Illetes. Drive through a second tunnel and take the last exit in the roundabout heading Palma. Drive straight for about 2 km, and after the traffic lights, on your right hand side you will see Hospes Maricel.

"Gourmet lunch in stunning location"
Our lunch was unforgettable due the quality of the food and the unparalleled situation of the hotel overlooking the bay and in beautiful sunny winter conditions one could even have lunch on the terrace, such luxury. The new young Chef offers food that is delicious and very beautifully presented, also he does great effort to keep the meals balanced and healthy, very much appreciated. The restaurant, and hotel, is worth a detour!! Also because the service is always friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
"Lovely relaxing 3 night February break"
Stayed for 3 nights in February. Really lovely hotel very easy to get to, amazing views, the terrace is perfect for a relaxing glass of wine, they have cosy sofas with blankets. The staff were incredibly helpful and always went out of their way to help. Breakfast was delicious, dinner was ok, a couple more choices would have been nice, but great wine chosen by our waiter. I had a room in the modern part of the hotel, which was very nice, spacious and lots of fun. Would very much like to return here.
"willing staff but no solution to stench of frying"
We are staying in room 42 which is a delightful room with plenty of windows at the top of the building . however we have already twice complained about the smell of frying which seems to come out of the ventilation or air conditioning vents even when not switched on. Nobody has done anything about our complaint not even the offer of a scented candle or some sort of air freshener. We leave the windows open when we go out but they keep coming in and shutting them. Last night tonight. Some relief. Shame as the staff are lovelyand although the place is very expensive -overpriced- we are still enjoying the seaviews.
We had a great stay here in April 2016. We didn't stay in the main hotel. The service was good. The bed was comfortable and I loved the tub in the room. The only thing I didn't like was that the individual pool was cold though and didn't seem that clean. The hotel grounds itself was gorgeous. Overall, still a great stay.
"Fantastic hotel in a cove where Errol Flynn once lived"
We had the pleasure of staying at the Hospes Maricel in February 2016. We hired a car from the airport and took us about an hour to find it. It was quite tricky as the directions weren't great. Finally we pulled into the driveway. It is a gorgeous hotel. We wanted to stay right on the seafront but not too far from Palma. We were warmly welcomed and the porters took our bags. Refreshing drinks are served whilst you check in. We were given a room upgrade but as the room was not ready we were treated to a tour of the hotel. There is a health club in the building behind the hotel, the pathway to enter it goes under the road. There are also more rooms in this additional building. We were very happy that we had been upgraded to a room in the original hotel which dates back to the 1950's. The spa is lovely, small but does have a swimming pool that goes from the inside to the outside by swimming along. It was a little too cold to tempt me though. Presently we were shown to our room on the third floor. It was wonderful. The view was incredible, right across the mediterreanean with a view to the coast curving round and an island on the horizon. Fishing boats tinkled as the swell rose and fell. We instantly began to feel the stresses of modern life ebb away. The bathroom is open to the room, just a frosted door separates the toilet so something to think about if you are not intimately involved with your room mate. 😀 The bed was extremely comfortable and the room decorated in a cool white with a sofa for relaxation. We had a meal in the restaurant for lunch which was delicious. I read that Errol Flynn had a house just round the corner in the 50's and could imagine him coming to this hotel for lunch. It would be a perfect Hollywood escape. I had a massage in the spa but it was not the one I booked as there was a mixup with the timings, however they offered me a beauty product in exchange for the shortfall in the cost. Breakfast was very delicious, eggs cooked to order and a great selection of cereals, pastries, hams, smoked salmon, yogurts etc. We found the staff all polite and helpful. I love the Spanish gin and tonic served to you in the huge golf ball glass and they had some lovely gins to try. I was very happy to see they stocked Gin Mare which is my favourite gin. We also ordered room service a couple of times which was also excellent. Highly recommended. Try a small get a room on the sea front as they are worth it, the view is perfection. There was a violent storm one of the nights and it was so exhilarating watching it from our window as it crashed onto the rocks below and threw the sun beds into the pool. We realised when we returned and watched the BBC series 'The Night Manager' that one of the scenes at a party had been filmed at this hotel.
