From the Airport, take the motorway to Palma. Before reaching Palma, after approximately 4 km, divert to Via Cintura (M20) heading Andratx. After a tunnel and before reaching Palma, follow the motorway towards Andratx. Take the second exit Bendinat-Illetes. Drive through a second tunnel and take the last exit in the roundabout heading Palma. Drive straight for about 2 km, and after the traffic lights, on your right hand side you will see Hospes Maricel.

Lovely hotel in prime location. Classed as 5*, I would rate it as 4*. Overpriced food, good location for other local restaurants. I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay there again. Spa is average.
"An incredibly relaxing break... "
It was hard to tear ourselves away from this wonderful hotel overlooking the Balearic sea. We spent four nights here in early January and were treated to blue skies, inspirational views and perfect relaxation. The Palace building hotel is situated next to the coast, with the Natura buildings set further back. We booked a room with a balcony in the Palace - it's well worth it if you love to look out over the sea. The spa services are excellent, although the gym is rather small. There aren't many worthy places to eat nearby, but the hotel restaurant is very good and it's a 15minute taxi into Palma. This is a beautiful hotel that we thoroughly recommend, especially in the quieter off-season. A perfect place to re-charge.
Maricel used to be a wonderful well kept hotel, however it has definitely lost its quality. There's been a great deal of lack of maintenance and the service is honestly one of the worst I've come across. For example at breakfast we waited 45 minutes for a coffee (cold) and 55 minutes for our eggs to arrive. I also bit into the Bircher Musli and snapped my tooth because it had cherries with pips inside with zero warning. Since when has a musli ever had pips in it' The previous evening we had to remind the staff three times to bring a menu over and once we ordered it took a further 30 minutes to be asked what we would like to order. This hotel has truly lost its beautiful charm and it's quality has nose dived. Sadly I'd highly advise choosing something for a quarter of the price and far better service.
"Featured in "The Night Manager""
The Hospes Maricel featured in the series "The Night Manager"! It's a beautiful hotel with fabulous (public) balconies and spectacular views over the sea. Other positives: The staff were helpful and very friendly; the hotel is open all year round (whereas many close down). Some negatives: The air conditioning didn't work properly which made the room uncomfortably hot at night; the hot water supply was a little "flakey". If it wasn't for the negatives, I'd have given the hotel 5 stars. We stayed in the main part of the hotel and didn't venture into the "annex".
"A hotel of two halves"
Fabulous main hotel, location and pool area a real dream. Great breakfast and terraces over looking the sea. However,we stayed in the new block across the road which was super cool with plunge pool etc. The noise from the road (particularly the revving buses in the morning) ensured no sleep the first night. After purchasing earplugs, the following night was better. Luckily we laughed at not being able to work the huge aray of lighting options in the room ( -switching on the bedside light alluded us so a crawl to the bathroom in the dark avoiding the egg bath and toe stubbing vanity units were the norm) So much style over practicality I'm afraid so we were relieved to leave after two nights and travel to another hotel.
