From the Airport, take the motorway to Palma. Before reaching Palma, after approximately 4 km, divert to Via Cintura (M20) heading Andratx. After a tunnel and before reaching Palma, follow the motorway towards Andratx. Take the second exit Bendinat-Illetes. Drive through a second tunnel and take the last exit in the roundabout heading Palma. Drive straight for about 2 km, and after the traffic lights, on your right hand side you will see Hospes Maricel.

"A luxury Hotel with amazing views"
A historic government building which has been beautifully converted into a luxury hotel, which warrants every one of its five star ratings. Amazing infinity pool overlooking the beautiful turquoise waters of the sea. We stayed in one of their rooms away from the main hotel which was modern, spacious with its own plunge pool. Extremely quiet and well positioned. I would love to had a peak at the bedrooms in the main building but they were all occupied. Great bar staff around the pool area although bar drinks and food expensive - to be expected but it seemed the hotel restaurant was not used much by guests in the evening due to guests eating out as Palma is just a ten minute cab ride away and hotel also close to Puerto Portals..... The only criticism of the hotel was trying to get a sun bed... We noticed they were all saved by 8am - the dreaded rush in the morning to get a sun bed puts me off a hotel but it seems a common occurrence in Majorcan hotels. Would definitely recommend this for couples, I wouldn't bring small children as there are many steps and steep steps into the sea. No beach here but is just a 2 minute stroll from hotel and a two minute swim from the hotel jetty.
"Lovely exterior, let down by poor room maintenance"
The setting for this hotel is spectacular, in an old building with pillars at the back on the terrace and views to the Mediterranean. The cocktails were pricey but lovely. The hotel is let down by a slightly dilapidated interior (despite its luxury billing). Why they did wood cladding throughout on the floors I don't know as I bet lovely natural stone is underneath that. This wood cladding even on bathroom floors ends up looking a little unsavoury with damp patches and staining. Not great. The sea view room we had was lovely for the view, but again the service was not great particularly for the price. Our milk for coffee was never replaced, they skimped on replacing body lotion even though I had clearly ran out and was not using the shampoo or conditioner. Just generally little things like that for a 5 star hotel let it down.
Lovely setting 5mins walk to Cala Major. We chose this hotel for its amazing seaviews. The room as you can imagine with the seaview was quite special. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had friends visiting and decided to stay in the hotel for a quick lunch, unfortunately it took way too long to be served and 30mins for a club sandwich.
Checked in today (9 October) ... It's part of SPG but I didn't realise that you don't receive the SPG Platinum benefits. So no breakfast included The old building is beautiful and check-in on the terrace was lovely with great views. Room 28 in the old building is ok but faces the hills and road. Ok room. Having read the reviews here I was expecting there to be a shuttle service into Palma in the evening but this isn't the case. Now wondering if we should have stayed at one of the SPG hotels on the island. The hotel is rather incongruous with the surrounding area.
We had a beautiful sea view room and enjoyed every minute at this special hotel. The staff was helpful and attentive, food was delicious, pool was lovely. We had a wonderful stay! I highly recommend this hotel.
