A surprise to find this old Palace amidst the brutalist modern architecture that surrounds it. A lovely oasis and very well located for access to important sights of Granada as well as shops and restaurants. Staff were very helpful and informative. We stayed in the new block with a nice room overlooking the courtyard. Some aspects of the room were impractical, no hooks for towels once you had come out of the wet bathroom, little space for toiletries at the sink and general lack of privacy for the bathroom area which was only partly partitioned off with opaque glass! However bed was comfortable and nice furnishings. We did visit the spa area which had a nice steam room and sauna. However it was a bit cold in the lounge and communal areas and again showers were behind a glass door with a gap so not very private.
"A week in Granada"
This is a lovely hotel with very nice rooms, attentive staff and a good location for getting around Granada. The nightlife in the adjacent streets can be a little loud at times but if you've done all the sightseeing during the day then it's likely that you will sleep through it.
"Spain re visited"
Revisiting Spain after many years was a thrilling experience. The Hospes Palacio de los Patos in Grenada was a good choice as it was centrally located. The large room with all amenities was comfy and the bottle of wine was a nice touch. Food was very good we enjoyed a part buffet breakfast, this was served in another building walking across a garden area. Walked up to the Alhambra with spectacular views.
"Classy and tranquil"
Stayed mid February as base to see Alhambra. Excellent service and lovely calm atmosphere. Right in the historic centre. Restaurant was delightful and spa has great sauna and steam room. Alhambra was all promised and took 6 hours. Cathedral open from 10 is also a pleasant diversion for an hour. Airport small and efficient. A super trip. Recommend the Andalusian food and wine - food is especially fresh. Staff at hotel gave outstanding service. We were upgraded. Thank you los patos.
"Very pleasant, but at these prices, really should be better...."
This nice, gracious old building is surrounded by more utilitarian dwellings on a main road, so it looks a bit out of place. That said, this is in general a lovely hotel, the staff are exceptionally professional and courteous, nothing seems too much trouble. We had a room in the main building, the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, although sleep quality is at risk if, like us, your room is on the main road side of the building. The bathroom was not 5* - a shower in the bath that shoots out water at odd angles and at alarmingly varied temperatures isn't on; the bathroom is also too small, so the wash basins are outside, just inside the main door! There's a lack of storage space too, just one cupboard with limited hanging space, and a small wobbly round table - at these prices you don't expect to have to live out of suitcases on the floor! And there's only the bed to relax on, no comfortable chairs at all. The impression here is one of style over functionality. We didn't eat in the restaurant, or have breakfast. Overall, just about recommended, and the location is pretty good, but you might be better off having a room in the modern bit, as the rooms there might be better designed.
