The concierge was at the door and took our cases, ready to go with us to our room, once checked in. The ladies at reception were very polite and helpful and willing to help you in anyway. The decor is superbly done, with a fabulous mixture of modern and old. Its light and airy, with a lounge area to relax after a day of sightseeing. Just off from the bar area is an outside terrace with plenty of tables and chairs to relax too. There is a spa, but we didn't use it. We had a twin room with a large rolltop bath and seperate shower. You don't need to take any toiletries as everything is provided, including toothbrushes & toothpaste, bathrobes, slippers and a hairdryer! They also replenish them every day. There's a safe and 2 wardrobes with hangers, but only two small drawers. The only issue we had was that the only English channel on the tv was BBC World Service. We payed for the continental breakfast, which is great. The staff serve you tea and coffee and the food is a buffet. There's hot and cold available and plenty of it. You can eat in the restaurant, or outside on the pavement, watching the parrots flying from tree to tree. Location is 10 mins walk from the old town, but 2 mins from the riverbed. Although it seems a busy road, you can't hear it from your room...ours was on the 4th floor looking onto the main road. We used the Metro from the airport and return, which costs €8 for 2 return. Get off at Colon using 3 or 5 and its 5 mins walk to the hotel. Stay here for luxury, comfort and ease to all attractions
"Stylish blend of classic and contemporary"
The Hospes Palau is the third Hospes we have stayed in and continues the theme of satisfaction started for us in Córdoba. A lovely old building reinvented as a modern luxury hotel this one offers ease of access to both the old town and the city of Science. The dreamer beds are always a star attraction as are the chains delightful restaurants. Here we enjoyed a delicious tuna carpaccio followed by an authentic Valencian Paella and sumptuous wine all at remarkably good prices. Great staff good value we highly recommend this if thinking of visiting Valencia!
"One of the best"
Absolutely outstanding. Beautiful facility and incredible staff. My wife left a valuable item on the train from Barcelona and the staff helped us get it back (alkng with the honesty of the RENFE staff).
"Really lovely place and great service"
I went here with my mother for a 4 day relaxing weekend. The place was very centrally located and a short taxi to the seaside. The general manager and concierge Laurentiu was lovely; he gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places to see and booked all of them for us!! They have a lovely courtyard in the hotel where our bedroom faded onto, with lovely fruit trees a vegetable patch and herbs growing in the middle. They have a spa for massages etc. Which was nice but could do with a better clean, they also have a small pool/ sauna area but I didn't go to see it. The bedrooms are nice but very simple, bathroom too, nice but a little outdated - I would expect more from a 5 star hotel. It is a lovely hotel with great service and close to the centre so I would definitely recommend staying here. I would only have to say that I think it is more of a very nice 4 star than 5 star hotel.
"Super City Hotel"
Spent 4 days here after a holiday afloat further up the coast. Fabulous hotel, rooms and staff. Great bar for pre dinner drinks or late night snacks. Excellent breakfast. Every possible option available. A perfect city stay. The air freshener small in reception wasn't the highlight!
