"Lovely weekend base for wine tasting"
This was a beautiful hotel, although perhaps the rooms didn't quite live up to the expectations of the foyer/lounge/gardens - all of which were fabulous. It is situated on the north, north west side of Beaune on the ring road, so easy to drive to. There is a short walk into the centre of Beaune itself. We had dinner in the adjoining restaurant. The food was brilliant and the set meal came with canapes and refreshing amuse bouches. Our only regret was that the weather had just got much colder and the garden lit for the evening would have been lovely to sit in during warmer weather - must come back!
"It's not 5 star..."
Likes - clean great location and great morning breakfast (20e supplement)... dislikes... asked to help arrange dinner they kept pushing their own restaurant which has TERRIBLE reviews and when we said no kindly they said well finding a restaurant the day of will be very complicated... well ok, that's your job... when we came back from the wineries... you'll never guess where we were booked.. yup their own restaurant which we promptly cancelled... and went elsewhere... rooms were ok... the king bed was two singles pushed together and you could feel the separation...
"Lovely Hotel in great location with excellent service"
We were three couples who had been traveling for a week in France, and now, traveling to Hotel Le Cedre from Mont Saint Michele, where we stayed at a very mediocre hotel. We were tired, thirsty and hungry and as we entered the hotel lobby, we looked at each other, and took a sigh of relief. The inside is warm and inviting and we were greeted by Alexis' (Sorry I didn't get the correct spelling of his name), but he was friendly, helpful, efficient and spoke very good English. He showed us to our rooms, and as we walked by the bar, we noticed a large cozy room with a huge fireplace and big comfy leather chairs. We met there every morning for cappuccino and croissants and every evening for apps and drinks. They have a full bar and the bartender was drink savvy, friendly and made a mean martini! The hotel offers a breakfast buffet for 20 euro which looked very good. The rooms are nicely appointed, clean with comfortable beds and large bathrooms. . Beaune was one of our favorite towns and we hope to come back to the Hotel Le Cedre
"Very expensive, but probably the best hotel in Beaune"
We stayed here 1 night. The grounds, and Lobby were all beautiful. Breakfast was not included. Our room was tiny and with very little furniture which seemed a bit strange. The TV was tiny as well. The bathroom was in great condition, and everything was very clean. The bed comfortable and the room quiet. Location is good as well. Just the price is a bit high, and nothing was included. No water, and no coffee maker.
"First class hotel and restaurant in great location"
My wife and I were in Beaune during the first week of October for a 3 night stay of wine tasting and exploration. We were able to book a 2 night pkg which included dinner at Clos de Cedre for two and breakfast for 2 days along with admission to Hotel le Dieu and then did the 3rd night a la carte. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a Prestige room which was at the back of the hotel and though the street behind was a bit noisy from car traffic with the window open, it was quiet at night with the window closed and the A/C running. The room was very nice and comfortable. The shower was a little small but very adequate. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the hotel gave us a nice bottle of wine and a plate of sweets with a nice birthday note for her which was very thoughtful. The hotel was just outside the ramparts of town but was an easy 5 to 10 min walk to everything including the train station though I wouldn't recommend doing that with luggage. Taxi to the gare cost about 7 euros. Francois and Alexis at the front desk were very courteous and helpful. We had a problem the first day with the electronic room key and they compensated us with champagne for two. They also helped with dinner reservations and arranging for a rental car for a day. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and believe me you need to save room for dinner in this town! We had a beautiful dinner at the Clos de Cedre which was included with our package. This was a five course meal which included an additional 3 chef's treats and everything was spectacular and portions were more than ample. The meal was definitley worthy of a Michelin Star whether they have one or not, as the service, presentation and quality was definitely top notch. The only down side about it for us was that it took about 3hrs and we wouldn't have minded but we were still a little jet lagged and had come off a full day of wine tasting! Oh well. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant for a couple's stay in Beaune.
