"another Vancouver getaway"
A stay at the Opus is an important part of my Vancouver getaways. I schedule R&R weekends to the West Coast a few times a year, and the Opus perfectly suits what I'm looking for: comfort, a sense of design, great location & helpful staff. I think this was my 11th or 12th stay at the Opus - I will definitely be back again. Another great weekend with the Opus as home base - I could be a Yaletown local for a few days. An upgrade to an executive suite made the weekend even more indulgent. I was a bit concerned about the second floor corner location, but no issue - excellent. Spacious, clean, quiet, bright, interesting décor, great for checking out the street life below. Staff were pleasant and low key as always. The Canada Line transit station across the street is great for access to the airport, and locations around the city - A couple of stops and a short walk to Van Dusen Botanical Gardens, Stanley Park, etc. Lots to do, shop, eat, drink in the immediate Yaletown neighborhood, plus easy to walk to most places downtown and along the Seawall/False Creek. The great shower and soaker tub were appreciated after all the walking. I enjoyed evening cocktails and snacks in the lobby bar and was impressed - well crafted and tasty. I sort of miss the old lobby before it was renovated to an actual bar. The place has matured over the years. Maybe it's nostalgia, but the Opus seems to be a bit less 'Opus-y" than is used to be - the O café is now a Caffe Artigiano, and the onsite restaurant is now an outpost of La Quercia. Not quite the same buzz it used to have, I miss the cheeky blog, the humour/edge seems to have diminished a little. Originally, it's strength of brand and concept made it stand out from any other hotel in town. The place is still solid, and customer service/experience is as good as always.
"Week long stay in Vancouver"
Great location and atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. Very convenient for all travel needs, including public transportation. Close to the marina and the water taxis. Great restaurants within easy walking distance. Overall, the best hotel to stay in while visiting Vancouver. We've stayed there twice now and will continue to stay there on our future trips to Vancouver.
A very smart and very cool boutique hotel, perfectly situated in Yaletown. Our room on the 7th floor was a wonderful surprise to us. A spacious room, big bed, comfortably furnished and with an almost hidden gem of a barhroom - which was a fantastic size with a separate bath and large shower. The room was peaceful and quiet with Vancouver skyline views, the reception staff were very courteous and welcoming and you couldn't ask for a better location for Yaletown's bars and eateries, the quayside water taxi station, riverside walks and the skytrain station which is diagonally opposite the front door. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we'll be back.
This hotel is situated in a very conviennt spot, with easy transport links to get around Vancouver ! We had a great stay. The room was lovley and the bed very comfy!! the staff were wonderful and very friendly and helpful. I left some items of clothing behind and they very kindly mailed them to me, free of charge to England. So I would highly recommend the opus!!! Affordable and a great find, would def stay on my next trip!!
"Amazing gem of a hotel in a perfect location"
