"Fabulous location. Amazing staff. "
Just stayed here for 2 nights. What a fantastic little jewel. Clean rooms. Quiet. Amazing neighborhood. Front desk staff really amazing. Especially Scott. He was kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Vancouver.
"Opus - My favorite Vancouver hotel!"
One of my favorite hotels and in a great location. The Opus is what one would call a boutique hotel with a sprinkling of mature hipster vibe. It's close to a beautiful walkway, restaurants, good coffee, and they have bikes for use (although, no helmets). I prefer staying here than the four seasons, the Sheraton or any of the Fairmont hotels!
"Nice little property, with some quibbles "
We loved Vancouver & enjoyed Opus along with it. Service was always attentive & helpful but could have lived without the insistent door bells rung by housekeeping at the typical return-to-room hours. Of course we could have remembered to put out the do not disturb signs, but we never did. The room was very clean & the bed & bedding luxe & comfortable. The bathroom was a different story. Only one sink for a couple is never a good thing, and having the toilet in the same room adds to the congestion. Hard to understand how a fairly new property, bordering on the high end, was constructed this way. They did attempt to mitigate the undersized space by putting a window between it & the room: not completely successful. Breakfast was good, the bar cozy & lively. Yaletown location worked for us. In all, very pleasant.
"Lovely hotel but watch out for bar prices and rude barman"
Check in and checkout were lovely if a little chaotic. Nothing wrong just simply things taking longer than they should eg printer in back office and not at front desk for receipts. Room was clean and of a reasonable size. Nice touch from house keeping when they arrived in the early evening to offer us ice and chilled water. Drink post dinner (not in hotel restaurant) was very expensive (41 Canadian dollars for a standard whisky and a glass of white wine). On top of that the waiter was extremely rude about the tip size we should / should not have given him. As Scots we tip for service in a restaurant but never to a bar man ( just thinking of the entertaining cocktail makers in the bars and restaurants on George St in Edinburgh who do not routinely get tips) I am sad to say he gave a very bad last impression of the hotel.
"Great hotel in fun neighbourhood"
Opus hotel is a well run boutique hotel in a great neighbourhood. Close to the sea wall, fabulous restaurants, subway, downtown, etc. We were upgraded to a lovely suite which included breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the best but different.
