"Swiss Perfection at an Affordable Price"
My wife and two children and I spent a few days between Christmas and New Years at the Agora Swiss in Lausanne and couldn't have been happier. First, the location on a quiet residential street not far from the train station, and almost directly opposite a subway stop. It is also next door to the Cafe Grancy, a popular restaurant-cafe with the Bo-bo crowd with a cozy aperitif corner round a fireplace. The rooms are stylish and snug with all of the appointments you need. Everything works. And best of all, the price is right. We did not make use of the sauna, but it was good to know it was there in the chill of a Swiss winter.
Myself and my fiance stayed here for New Year. The hotel itself is in an ok place, but found we had to walk a lot to find anything. The room itself wasn't ideal. There was no mirror next to any electrical points so I wasn't able to see when I was drying and straightening my hair. The toilet and shower cubicle is transparent for whatever reason they thought this would be ideal, is beyond me! On arrival we were told it would be 20 Swiss francs to park for the three nights, however on check out we were disappointed to find it was 20 per night. An expense we feel cheated by. I have only given this hotel a three star because we had a fantastic holiday away from the hotel.
"nice hotel, horrible staff"
the rooms are modern, clean - with small exceptions- but the persons at the reception made our stay a big disappointment. we stayed in similar conditions BUT with great staff, for half of the price...
"A nice stay"
I stayed at the Agora 3 times over a period of 6 months and the hotel always met my expectations. It is conveniently located close to the train station, 5 minutes walk away. The hotel has its own underground parking. Staff is nice. Try to find a room not too close to the gym, as guests start exercising early.
"Decent stay, but not impressed"
Stayed here for one night in December 2016. The hotel is very close to the station, however a good map may help find it quicker. Standard check-in, English is spoken. The room given to us was very cold and it took us a few hours to warm it up. No hot water in the shower (initially) either. The washing basin was not in the bathroom cubicle but in the room itself, which I found rather inconvenient. Breakfast is very modest for the price, and the much-admired view from the breakfast room on the 9th floor is really not that impressive comparing to the other views you will encounter in Switzerland.
