The Hotel Al Codega sits between the Rialto Bridge and the Plaza San Marco. Surrounding it are architectural gems, replete with history, and myriad restaurants, bars, and boutiques. One of the most enchanting areas of ancient Venice.
Great, clean, modern hotel. Rooms very small, and having no air con or fan was the only downfall. Room was very hot and stuffy, and we could not open the windows because of mosquitos! Although they state they have air conditioning, what they do not say is that you cannot control it from your room, and it is is only turned on in May. It was hard to sleep in such a stuffy room.
"Cozy in Venice"
The location of Al Codega was perfect for seeing Venice. Located a short distance from St. Marks and the Rialto bridge, we were able to walk everywhere. The hotel itself was charming, the room was very nice, and the staff was exceptional.
"If in Venice"
The Hotel Al Codega is a small, charming family own hotel in the middle of Venice. The staff was very helpful, friendly and polite. My room was small, but clean and had everything needed except a coffee pot. Because the hotel is right in the middle of things it could get a little noisy at night (my window faced a walkway), but I like the window open so, if it were closed it would be better. Venice is so close together you really can't escape the noise factor.
"Quality in the heart of Venice"
What a gem! The location of this property is just perfect: a quiet patio right next to all of Venice's main attractions and plenty of shops and restaurants around. It's a 5 min walk from both St. Mark's square and the Rialto bridge. Our room was quiet, impeccably clean and the bed was large and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and attentive to all our needs throughout our stay. Breakfast was definitely the highlight of our stay at the property: what a treat! Fresh and delicious local products; we started every day with a huge smile on our faces :-) As a point of improvement, we'd have liked housekeeping to take care of the room in the morning rather than in the afternoon but it wasn't a deal breaker for us at all. We'll definitely stay at this hotel again if we return to Venice!
Hotel was beautiful, historic and very easy communication for english speaking folks. The room was a bit small and very dusty. It seemed as if the room had not been dusted in months. We also had a problem with mosquitoes, we spent the entire night being attacked by them. The temperature of the room was hot and the hotel could not increase the air temperature due to regulations. The hotel was very close to the Rialto bridge but definitely difficult to find since its hidden in a back court. The breakfast was traditional. I would stay again but definitely would need to inspect the room first and not go in the summer.
