The Hotel Al Codega sits between the Rialto Bridge and the Plaza San Marco. Surrounding it are architectural gems, replete with history, and myriad restaurants, bars, and boutiques. One of the most enchanting areas of ancient Venice.
"Well located and lovely"
Four couples stayed here for a few nights just two weeks ago. What a find! Close to the Rialto Bridge, but tucked into a courtyard so very quiet. Beautiful rooms. Superb breakfast. Easy to get around the city from this location. Good bars and restaurants nearby.
Loved our stay here! Quiet, quaint and comfy, this property is a pleaser! Hotel Al Codega is clean, friendly and offers an array of fine breakfast choices each morning...and cocktails at night. 🍷🍸 THANK YOU for a most wonderful and accommodating experience! Definitely will return to this property situated in a terrific location!
"Great hotel with helpful staff"
We stayed here for two nights and the accommodations were excellent. Nice, clean rooms with a view of the alleyway. Hotel is very close to the main attractions (St. Mark's Square, Rialto bridge, Doge's Palace, etc.). The staff were also incredibly helpful. They recommended a few skip the line tickets and were able to print them out for us (along with some train tickets). Would highly recommend.
"Nice traditional room, good customer service."
Only spent one night post-cruise at the hotel. As with everything else in Venice, it was a bit difficult to find the first time, even with the map they provided when we made the reservation. As we were trying to figure out how to get there, a nice gentleman approached us and asked which hotel we were looking for. Turns out that he actually works for Al Codega, so he ended up guiding us to the front door of the hotel. He saved us some time wandering around lugging our suitcases, thank you! We arrived before the usual check-in time, but they let us know that our room was just being cleaned and that we could wait about 30 minutes and then we could get in. In the meantime we got complimentary coffee and pastries, which I thought was very nice of them. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. It is an older building but the rooms have been updated (flat screen TV, bathroom fixtures, lighting). The only inconvenience might be the elevator which is quite small (we could only fit 2 people plus suitcases at a time), but this goes along with the type of building, so it was no big deal. We had to leave for the airport really early the next morning, so we didn't get to try the breakfast which was included.
"Oasis in Central Venice"
We very much enjoyed our stay at Al Codega. The hotel is in a very convenient location to many sites and yet feels private and isolated in a little enclosed courtyard. Rooms are nice sized and decor is attractive. Bathrooms are cramped but well appointed. Bed is comfortable by Italian standards. Oddly, the hotel requires you to leave the key with them whenever venturing out of the hotel. This was only a minor inconvenience. Overall, would definitely recommend Al Codega.
