Al Ponte dei Sospiri hotel is located in the heart of Venice, 30 metres from Saint Mark's Square, in front of Bridge of Sighs.

Perfect location, very good service, professional team!Comment of V. Pierre , Belgium the 2014-03-12
We really enjoyed our stay and would like to extend our thanks to the wonderful, friendly staff who made us feel like friends. The location was fantastic...very close to Piazza San Marco and the Bridge of Sighs. We enjoyed the sounds in the morning as we wanted a Venetian experience and it was wonderful to hear Venice waking up...the sound of bells first thing...the gondoliers getting ready...it added to our experience! Breakfast was good...we could either choose room service or pop across to the sister hotel for buffet. We chose buffet...selection of pastries, drinks, yoghurts, meats, cheese, cereal etc. We enjoyed it and there was plenty! Hotel room was very nice...very clean with daily linen change. It did get quite warm at times but I guess it is better than being cold! All in all we had a great stay here and we would definitely come again!
"Great location, with a view upto the Bridge of Sighs"
Room 150...with a terrace onto the canal..... The best. Piano nobile, first floor, corner room looking out to the Grand Canal, through the Bridge of Sighs. Pole position Three huge Windows and French window onto the canal. Ok, it's a four star. Fading and in need of TLC. But it's still got some chutzpah. Forget about the room delivered breakfast or the sit down option in the sister hotel around the corner. Go out and and forage with the locals for the best coffee in the world, the freshest croissants and stand up, el cheapo , on the walk breakfast. So much better. Room 150, a grand king size bed. A great working spa bath! With Windows onto the canal. Wander down about 20. Metres to a wonderful bar for a stand up,spritz ( with Campari) or a negroni . Rub shoulders with the locals, also standing , tossing down a quick macchiato and then a 30second stroll into San Marco. Voila! It's all there, within less than 50 steps. From the balcony , look down into the gondoliers wiping down their boats, pre crowd. Watch 100s throng across the bridge at the Grand Canal. Listen to a woman sobbing as she runs down the Calle , pursued by a distraught lover.. Want more' Just go.....
We stayed for 5 nights. The hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. It is ideally located just behind San Marco square although the downside is the bells every morning at 7am, although not an issue for us as we are early risers. The other little negative was only double bed so had to share with my mum but the bed was very large. Breakfast is in the sister hotel across the way but really only basic - cereal, cakes, scrambled egg, bacon, yoghurts, fruit juices and hot drink dispenser. You can have breakfast in your room and we found this to be better. If you want you can catch water taxi to take you/ collect you straight to/from hotel. Please no that there is no restaurant at this hotel, although a multitude just outside the front door, nor are there any coffee or tea making facilities in the room, although there is a mini bar. And for those solely English speakers who like to watch TV, I could not find an English speaking channel despite a thorough search. I truly recommend this hotel however and would not hesitate to stay there again
"Very good stay, breakfast was the only poor thing!"
The rooms are stunning really, very clean. You should pick this place if you want to be very close to the San Marco square. Staff are nice, but they don't have a restaurant, so the breakfast is catered and kind of poor.
"Very good location"
Very decent hotel for Venice, especially tourists with family and small children due to the great location and proximity to St. Mark's Square. How to Get There: If you take a water taxi, it will take you directly to hotel, but at a much more expensive rate. If you take the Alilaguna, it will be much cheaper and the walk to the hotel is not bad (even with children/stroller). Word of advice, despite what the boat driver advises you (to stop at San Zaccaria), get off at San Marco instead (especially if you have lots of luggage or stroller). Why' Because even though Zaccaria is a stop earlier and the walking distance to the hotel is slightly shorter, there are at least 4 bridges to across and that means 4 stairs you need to carry your luggage/stroller up and down. If you get off at San Marco, there is no stairs to walk up or down. Anyway, back to the hotel. It's literally 2 min walk from St. Mark's Square and is in the heart of Venice. The room is decently sized, and the staffs are friendly. We found the room clean, but the decorations (and decor) are definitely a bit dated. If you like lots of fluffs and hangings in your room, this is great for you. For us, we prefer simple and clean looks. The elevator is tiny, but it works. There is no in-house restaurant (that's why you get room service), but you are welcome to walk to their sister-hotel for buffet style breakfast instead. The only down side for the hotel' Weak AC in the blistering summer. The first night we were there, the AC stopped working at night. We called but obviously no help until the next day at 9am. After that, it worked fine. The staffs were very respectful and friendly, but the best feature of this hotel is the location. It's close enough to the main attraction, but far enough from the noise. Wifi was adequate. One or two times with weak signals, and don't expect super speed, but it's there and decent for majority of the time.
