Located in the heart of Cologne’s city centre, Hotel am Augustinerplatz is just a short walk away from the historic old quarter, the cathedral, the main train station and the banks of the River Rhine. The popular retail areas of Hohe Straße and Schildergasse are just a stone's throw away from Hotel am Augustinerplatz.

"Painfully overpriced during DMEXCO (at the Messe)"
Even booking 5 months ahead for DMEXCO, this was the best we could do in Cologne. A ridiculous mark up surely on the normal rack rate. Tiny room on 6th floor, open shelves, small bed (2 x singles), tight bathroom. Clean yes but in no way somewhere you'd opt to spend any time. Breakfast very basic. Staff friendly enough but no one was here for the hotel - that said €500 a night was day-light robbery for this level of hotel. I'll have to book Cologne even earlier for next year!
We stayed here based on location. The room was just like the picture and the twin beds pushed together actually worked well as you get 2 single duvets. Clean and comfortable although someone is next to the wall so some climbing is needed to get in and out. The aircon is fantastic. The decor for the whole place is a little dim due to subtle lighting. Breakfast was good if a little pricey at €20 each. Easy walking distance to the Dom and chocolate museum.
"Short businesstrip and a nice hotel"
The entrance is a little hidden, around the corner of Kaufhof. A small, but surprisingly cute hotel, with a small lobby and lounge. It has a very nice atmosphere and the staff was super friendly. Any time again...
"Good location. Very small rooms…"
Hotel Am Augustinerplatz is located 50m from one of the main shopping streets in cologne and less than 10 minutes walk from Kölner Dom. This is a plus! The downside is the size of the rooms. I our room there was a bed in the corner and more or less 1 meter of floor space free on two sides. In the “minibar” we found the to complementary bottles of sparkling water. Nothing else. The hotel staffs were polite. Breakfast was 12 euros p.p., which we declined and went to the bakery 100m down the shopping street and got two nice sandwiches for less than 4 euros…
