"Good hotel "
So glad we splurged and stayed at Amfora instead of some of the more affordable options. The rooms are decent, a tad bit worn down and the bathrooms were old but overall still decent. The pools were fantastic and really made the trip. Breakfast was delicious every day. very short and beautiful walk to town. Perfect location. Hotel also assists with getting luggage down to the pier/town for the ferries back to split.
"Comfort, Location, Views and Luxury"
My husband and I stayed here for 2 days in October 2016 for our anniversary trip. The hotel is located close to the old town but not in the old town. Don't let that fool you, it's super close bc Hvar town is tiny. Its like 10 min from the ferry to the hotel. We booked a Superior Double Room, Sea View; Included amenities: Free Wireless Internet, Breakfast Buffet. We were upgraded to a sweet suite with heated bathroom floors, living room, and incredible views of the pool and sea! Loved the location of our room. Very easy to go in and out. Our bed was comfortable and we slept beautifully both nights here. Service was incredible for our entire stay. The staff in every department were attentive and accommodating to all our needs. One night we locked ourselves on our balcony...lol..... luckily I had my cell on me and called reception. They were unlocking it within 5 minutes. Room service was great. The complimentary breakfast can be used in the dining room or in the room ($5 service fee). On our last day we were hanging at the beautiful pool and saw an american reality show (WAGS) being filmed. That was quite entertaining. The hotel is tied to the Adriana in the old town where they share spa services. If you arrive and there's a little rain, the hotel will have cars waiting at the dock to transport your luggage to the hotel and protect your belongings from the rain. The only weird part of our interactions w/ the hotel was this....they would not transport us to the hotel, just our luggage! Needless to say that was a bit odd, but makes sense given the limited space for all the guests going there as this hotel is the largest on the island. The hotel grounds are beautiful. Its peaceful and quiet here. If you are looking for a resort experience on Hvar island, this is your best bet!
If you want a hotel that offers all and a bit more, just book Amfora! Great service, great view, amazing rooms and close to beach. Also the pool is fantastic. About 10 minuts to city center by foot. Just book it!
Lovely hotel with a great pool and plenty of sun beds. Short walk into the town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was a large buffet with plenty of selection for all tastes. Rooms were large and clean. Ours had the luxury of a roll top bath at the end of the bed! Our favorite spot was the pool bar which had a great cocktail menu. Plenty of clean towels available all day by the pool. You get given a card to exchange. Our only down side was that my husbands wallet was stolen from the pool. Lucky we only had £100 of cash and not all our holiday money however it was still frustrating and he lost a good Paul Smith wallet and bank cards. We did tell reception who did nothing to help us locate it so we spent the best part of an evening looking with no luck. We suspect one of the bar workers took it as it was hidden under the sun longer with empty glasses which had been collected. We did not let it spoil the stay and all in all had a lovely time. I would definitely recommend and go back.
"Great location & pools."
Room was a bit small for what you pay, we had a cute balcony with a little view over the islands. The staff at reception were always very friendly, but we found that those on morning duty in the breakfast room were a bit grumpy and not very helpful! Great location with a beautiful stroll to the town centre.. Great for kids (especially with all the pools and the little park on the way down) and good for getting to all the tours that start in town. Also found that it was hard to catch the lifts at certain times as most of the ones we had to catch were tiny! The bathroom wasn't as clean as it should have been, but after a quick call to reception, someone came up with new towels and gave it a quick clean again while we checked out the hotel. Other than a few minor things, which I guess is annoying at this price point, I would still recommend it for the location to town, nightclubs (hula hula etc) and pools. Also worth noting, that you can ask reception at the hotel to take you down to catch the ferry when you are leaving the island permanently - we didn't realise this and ended up carrying a broken suitcase, one working suitcase and a child to the port! So, if you have kids and lots of luggage, ask them to give you the quick 5 min ride down!
