"Best location-quality-price ratio in Amsterdam "
Best quality place in the city for better price than others. Great buffet breakfast and the evening menu of the excellent famous restaurant inside the hotel. The Superior rooms are clean with air conditioning and perfect fast Wi-Fi(measured 15/2 on my Galaxy S7) . Everything seems new and for the price and the location on the Dam square you can't beat this hotel. The rooms might be a bit cosy, so if you're accustomed to suits pay attention to the room's size. The Superior rooms on the 5th floor require to climb steep stairs (the lift goes only to the 4th floor) so pay attention to it.
"Great location and quiet"
This hotel is in a great location, central to most things in Amsterdam city. We had a room on 1st floor looking onto Damrak. Good double glazing so we didn't get much noise from outside coming in. Room was clean and tidy (everyday) and very good size. Good bathroom facilities and shower nice. Good wifi (free). Staff were very friendly. Check in and out was fast and efficient. The restaurant was very good and I have made a very positive review on separate post. Staying here and dining here is a must. Well done all staff.
"Great hotel - central location!"
Quaint hotel right in the center of things - very clean! Very friendly!! Right on the tram line and easy walking distance to the Amsterdam Central Station. Only minutes from all the sights. Rooms are clean, well appointed and offer power outlets suitable to US, UK and EU power cords.
"Oustanding service & wonderful food"
We stumbled across this wonderful restaurant on the first of our two nights in Amsterdam and chose it for dinner. The food was simply amazing and the staff wonderfully hospitable throughout the evening. After having such an enjoyable evening we opted to return for dinner on our second night in Amsterdam and we were glad we did. Again, the food was to cooked and served to perfection and the staff couldn't do enough for us. A special mention to staff members Jose, Tjorko, Nancy (I hope I got that right!) and the other staff working those two nights whose names I don't know - you know who you are. Your light-hearted and humourous manner, wonderful hospitality and exemplary service made our time in Amsterdam all the more enjoyable! You should be very proud of the service you deliver to your patrons. The Australians
Visited this 105 year old restaurant which is within an equally old but well maintained and relatively grand hotel called Hotel Amsterdam. We were drawn to it by the menu on display in the window while walking by. It was attracting possible diners to try their special dish i.e. A Bucket of Mussels. Apparently, these are similar to the lovely, tasty small mussels one gets in Scotland and France. In this instance, these were from the Dutch island of Zeeland. The mussels were ' cooked ' in white wine and were just delicious. We had some lovely white wine with the mussels. We also ordered a salad to complete the light lunch. The service by the wait staff, an Indonesian gentleman was pleasant and courteous. The restaurant has great ambiance reflecting well on its rich history.
