"Aquabella in Aix"
Stayed there for three nights, and location is good, easy walking distance to main part of town. Lot's to see and do, but particularly to experience Aix as Cezanne did--Mount St. Victoire and all. Aquabella difficult to reach if driving a car(lot's of one way roads in Aix)--a car w/GPS comes in handy! But the rooms, cleanliness, food, and service by staff is very good. It's a nice 4 star hotel, and we would stay there again.
"Not a 4 or 5 star hotel"
Just got back from a vacation to Paris and Aix En Provence. Was at the Aquabella Hotel for three nights, from April 3 to April 6 2017. The room was dusty (remote for TV was dirty and so were the information books etc.). Cleaning staff was talking in halls early in morning, drilling one floor down from us and garbage truck was very noisy. Desk Staff needs to be trained in customer service with hello, good morning, thank you and good bye. They also need to learn to give better directions on how to get to town or the markets. They were very aloof except for the manager who was very pleasant and helpful. Staff also needs to be trained in what the spa offers. They did not tell us there was a direct route from the hotel to spa and gave wrong information about the classes at the spa. Bar staff needs to be train also. The afternoon person kept leaving the area and we had trouble locating him. He did not seem to know the wines that the hotel offered. Night bar person was not very friendly.. Ordered cab day before we were suppose to leave and the person did not do it. Unless you are going for the spa, I would try another hotel.
"Great middle market hotel"
Good staff! Christophe on reception when we checked in and Loulou on bar ensuring we were looked after in the department both worthy of a mention. Beds were great and room well presented and equipped. They have a heated outdoor pool and sauna. We didn't use but robes and slippers are provided in each room. The breakfast was good and those tiny breakfast sausages also worthy if a mention. Located well for the shops and eateries so nearby in the 'olde' era of France, magnificent to view on a leisurely stroll. Nice to have a separate wc! Usually in a bathroom altogether. The furniture in the bar is passed it's use by date though management so just giving you the heads up on that one. Otherwise a lovely stay in a lovely pub!
"Great service great location"
We were very happy with our stay at Aquabella. It's location is perfect, being within the historic laneways of Aix. The staff were VERY friendly and super helpful, we were very impressed. The restaurant is lovely. We had one dinner and several breakfasts and the food and service was fantastic. Unfortunately we hadn't taken our bathers so weren't able to take advantage of the spa but it looked amazing!! The room had recently been renovated and was quite spacious (by European standards) and clean. It did lack some charm though, being based more on a minimalist template. Also the quality of the renovation was a little disappointing, especially the painting. There were paint splatters all over the flooring. It had clearly been done in a rush without an eye for detail. It's a shame that some of that gorgeous French charm wasn't introduced in the decor. However, overall we were very happy with our stay.
"Very pleasant stay"
I stayed at the hotel during business trip with my colleagues. Have been to the hotel previously for meetings but first time overnight. Reception staff attentive, rooms well appointed and nice perk is access to the Roman Baths. Very centrally located. Don't know about breakfest because walked 4 minutes to the nearest square and enjoyed petit dejeneur for €5.50 in the sun. Recommend!!
