We thought the hotel was great! Our room was very nice and beds comfortable. Reception were very accommodating and they addressed issues promptly and responded with great customer service. I would certainly stay at this hotel again. A more reasonable bed and breakfast rate would be welcomed as I felt it was a little pricey without breakfast. Looking forward to seeing the renovations of the hotel in the future as the exterior was looking a little tired in places. All round great hotel!Comment of B. Rebecca , United Kingdom the 2015-03-23
The hotel room was clean and spacious, however I was expecting more from a 4* hotel. The bed and the pillows were uncomfortable, the drain in the shower was blocked, and there's no storage space to put your clothes away so I had to leave them on the floor, which obviously isn't ideal. There's also been some issues with payment: my company booked this room for me and paid for it, however the receptionists kept insisting that the room hasn't been paid for. When they pulled out my booking, it turned out that the card details my company provided were there all along. It's not a terrible hotel, but I've had better experiences during my other business travels.
We had such a lovely time here, the room was clean, tidy and beautifully modern! The staff were very helpful and gave advice on where to get trams and such! Would definitely recommend and come back again!
Preplanned visit to Amsterdam to see family and wanted somewhere nice to stay. The hotel had good reviews, so we thought we would give it a go. On arrival we found the entrance to the hotel is having a major revamp which worried us a little due to possible noise depending where our room was situated. Reception is very dark in what I would call a Gothic twist on a boutique hotel with dark full height drapes and old stone central staircase with ornate balustrades. Check-in is 15:00 and we arrived exactly at that time, but was told our room was not quite ready as it was still being cleaned. We had a twenty minute wait, but was then informed that we were being upgraded to a better room due to the inconvenience. After coming out of the dark reception, the rest of the hotel is light and airy with white drapes everywhere. Our room on the 3rd floor overlooked the central courtyard, was lovely and quiet, light and airy with exposed beams. The bed was superbly comfortable and the bathroom was tiled in black with freestanding bath as well as a wetroom style shower. The hotel is only 3 stops on the metro from central station, and also has a large park about 200 metres away. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for us and worth the money.
The hotel is nice and very friendly staf. Also have a good bar/restaurant. We had 3 nights there and had a great time. Walking distance to metro. There was some construction going on, but that didn't bother us.
"Very different but very good"
It was a shame we were not told about the extensive construction work, but the hotel was very good, though the décor will not be for every ones taste. Room was spotless and comfortable. A note on Amsterdam make sure you order online for museums or trips otherwise you could be queueing all day!
