good maintenance in the common areas and in the suite. Clean and well equipped rooms. Good service and ads transparent. Breakfast is that brazilian peoples like. Full of options. It seems that 35% of room fare is spent for breakfast. Bad that leftover too much food when time of breakfast off.
"Met most expectations"
My wife and I spent 4 nights here and enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is included and was very good - especially the tapioca!! Our room was small but comfortable and well air-conditioned, Each room came with a hammock just in front - not private minde you but something we did use I think once or twice. The hotel had several swimming pools, one of which overlooks the Atlantic and was very nice for sunbathing. The beach right in front of the hotel is very rough and likely too dangerous for swimming. We had to walk 1-2 kilometers to get to an area safe enough to swim. The hotel is a short 5 minute taxi ride from the vila of Porto de Galinhas, which is where we ate dinner every night. Room service seemed very slow and there were days we came back home in late afternoon after a day at the beach and our rooms hadn't been serviced yet. Still, overall our experience was nice and would consider returning again.
"Great potential, prime location and very poor performance"
We stayed here for 4 nights in March. Utterly disappointing breakfast ( no omelette made on spot, tasteless bread, artificial juice machines and horrible coffee) but the fruits were amazing. Staff is kind and nice but nobody speaks any English, which one might expect in 'international resort wanna be' like this, at least one person at the front desk ! The lobby is nicely decorated with a local art and general layout of the hotel is rather nice with 3 nice pools. The cocktails at the main pool bar were great, the most delicious caipirinhas. The hotel is close enough the the city of Porta de Galinhas and there always taxis available around. In general the hotel is quite outdated and requires a proper refurbishment. What's the point of having an AC in a room without having it equipped with a glass window.
"Good for families"
We arrive late at night (11 pm) to the hotel with our five year old daughter. Although we have paid half-board wasn't give any chance of meal to the child beside paid extra for a sandwich. The room was comfortable, spacious, however at 5.30am was impossible to sleep, way' Well for two reasons: 1) The room as no glass window, just a wood window with a mosque tier; 2) In the other side of the wall was the main road. In the next morning we went to the front desk asking to change. After two options we change rooms, but we still could hear the road noise. Altought the noise problems, the rooms are very confortable and clean. The dinner/buffet was good. With good salads, and other tasteful choices (meat, fish, rice, pasta, etc). The breakfast was good to. The 3 pools are very good as well as the hotel grounds well kept. Late check-out: our flight was late at night so with 48hrs with decided to ask the front desk staff about the possibility, was told to ask again next day. Went there as they told and receive a "no"! The room was already booked! If we wanted they could keep our luggage and provide some towels and a shower in a public hotel bathroom. Let's face it, that option with a 5yr old was not an option! So, I decided to insist and went to the front desk again next morning. Talk with Marcio, who understood my dilemma (thank you Marcio, you made all the difference!). He asks me to wait so he could talk with the manager. After an hour I went back, a Marcio confirm that was authorized to keep the room for a late check-out. I even insist that wasn´t important the type of room just something more private. But there was no problem to stay in that room we had. Overall is a good hotel, with some entertainment choices and pleasant ambience and close to the beach. Ecological note: doesn't make sense having air conditioner in the rooms without glass windows, it's a huge waste of energy and money.
From positive side would say that layout of the hotel was interesting and nice, interior was great, bed comfortable, linens clean, room itself clean, water pressure normal, staff friendly, kind and helpful, size of the room normal, hammock in room and balcony were just excellent. Another thing I noticed but didn't experience as we travelled as couple was the attention for kids. There was whole house as playground for kids and special activities organized for kids. It was really lovely. From negative side would point out that hotel was extremely noisy. We were placed to room #14 which was next to the "highway". 2 meters from road. As house had no glass window and very thin walls then we slept almost in between speeding loud cars/buses/trucks. Even ear plugs didn't help. During our stay construction works took place. At 7am we woke up for extremely load appliances noises - electric drills etc. Breakfast was disappointment as from earlier reviews I understood that breakfast is great in this hotel. No yogurt, no omlet made on place, tasteless white bread in different shapes, terrible coffee, porridge very-very sweet and covered with cinnamon, no variety of salads. Staff was kind and nice but didn't talk english. I would understand it if there would be at least 1 person in reception who could understand and talk few words in english but we really struggled several times as noone understood and didn't talk at all. I recommend this hotel for people who are looking for parties and action around but not pieceful and quiet romantic vacation.
