The hotel Bella Venezia is located at 12 km by car or 10 km by water-taxi from the Marco Polo international airport.
"Appartments a good option for families"
I read a lot of bad reviews about hotels in Venice. This is not surprising. Hotels in Venice are the most overpriced in Europe. So my best advice when you stay in Venice is 1) do your research and 2) keep your expectations low. My impression of the main Bella Venezia hotel is that it is a slightly better than mid-range hotel, more like a 3.5 than 4 star place. The prices are reasonable, which means on exhorbitant rather than extortionary. The location is very good. Reading the reviews, and having stayed there myself, it seems like it is crucial to know what you are booking. I understand the BV has a sister hotel that is not as nice, but that you can easily book by accident. They also have these appartments, which are not in the same building as the hotel, but are well located and quite nice. We stayed in the appartments. The great thing about the appartments are they are sizeable (again, by "Venician" standards). They have a main sitting room, and 2 bedrooms. You could accomodate up to 6 people, although that would be quite cramped. The rooms were clean. My only complaint is the people upstairs could be noisy at times. I don't want to oversell the place, it was still very expensive. But having heard so many horror stories about Venice I was pleasantly surprised.
"Great location, average hotel"
As is the case with Venice, hotels do not represent great value. But you have to compare it to its peers, and it measures up very well. The location is fantastic, and really allows you to take in a lot of Venice in a very short period of time. About as easy to get to from the airport as possible, and very close to all the main attractions and the grand canal.
"Clean friendly great location"
Located between the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square, this is a perfect place to base a Venice trip. It was a small room but perfectly clean and well appointed. We didn't have canal side - they're dearer. Room even had usb ports! Breakfast was on the continental side but they did good ham and eggs so I was happy.
"Perfect location for Venice break"
When I booked this hotel I was worried about finding it as it appears to be tucked away in a small lane. I need not have been concerned as after checking out a street map and finding the location just a short distance from the Rialto bridge, it was a brief walk from the Rialto vaporetto stop. The hotel staff were polite and helpful, the rooms were clean and very quiet and the breakfast was unexpectedly good. ( choice of cooked or cold meat cheese, cereals, bread rolls, toast, fresh fruit salad, muffins and cakes). It would have been helpful to have had tea and coffee making facilities in the room but the hotel bar ( when manned ) provided this service. The location was fantastic, equidistant from St Mark's square and the Rialto bridge ( no more than 5 mins walk either way). Plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants in close proximity. Would definitely stay here again.
"No customer service"
Ten to eleven and no service - the bar man has gone - not for the first time this also happened on our first night - so we've brought our own wine down and serving ourselves- would not recommend this hotel at all - room tiny and not at all Venetian- ninth time in Venice and worst hotel
